profile settings

Post by OverRaider » 11 Aug 2014 15:00

How can I change in user control panel my profile? I mean I don`t want 'most active forum' and 'most active topic' to be shown...how can I delete it? I noticed some users profiles don`t show this part of their profiles and I went through my user control panel several times but couldn`t find the setting for it

I think the only way to hide this information is to delete all the messages you have posted (!). :(

I never saw another profile without this data maybe someone knows ? :anxious:

some of our members do not post so this data would be blank for them. I do not believe this data can be removed, but I am checking with Tinka to confirm that. We'll get back to you.

But your own profile excludes this data, Mugs. ;)

that's because I fly around to every forum and topic (usually stopping to add my 2 cents) every single day - the counter stopped working 5 years ago. :lol:

hmm - I do not actually know, but it may indeed have to do with the amount of posts. At a certain number maybe the query to run these stats would take too long and this gets excluded????

Another not recommended technique is to post 100 posts a day for this process to take place. :D

Ok, I go out.

Seems like the Master Chatter rank (5000 posts) is the threshold to disable this 'feature'. Maybe something that can be changed for lower ranks via the admin panel?

Lucas is right. When a member has more than 5000 posts, this information isn't shown anymore.
It can't be done in the admin panel here on site but maybe it can be changed in the database when opening "includes/functions_display.php" and then changing the following line into another amount of posts.
...
if ($userdata['user_posts'] > 5000)
{
return;
}
...
As Mugs and I don't have access to the database, we can't check that.

So, just keep posting! ::)

Well at least there is some reward for the rank :lol:

Well "only" 4785 posts for me to reach that rank, that`s almost the amount of posts you already have yourself :D
Thank you Tinka for this information :)

Don't worry OverRaider, nobody here judges you because you use more often a particular forum. :)

I remember I was stuck within about 200-300 for several not-so-talkative years... then I suddenly got 2000 and I don't even know how it happened :D
