Impossible resolution at Tomb Raider - The Last Revelation

Post by agentpat » 10 Mar 2012 19:34

Hello

I wanted to remember again Tomb Raider IV and play it again, but because my monitor is 1920x1080 and the settings can not be set higher resolution of 1280x1024 and I can not play the recommended resolution for my monitor.
Is there any way to set a 1920x1080 - maybe some patching exe or something? I tried the exe from TRLE, but did not get - the game does not start.
I would be very grateful if someone help me.

i have also a widescreen 1920x1080
but don't play that high
cos i don't think you will get better picture
remember that trla are from 1999
long before anyone was thinking about widescreen
high definition and so on
but i think you can use this

I often play at resolution 1280x1024, using a widescreen 1920x1080 monitor.

Unzip the level into its own folder. Right click the .exe file (usually tomb4.exe), and choose to make a shortcut. Then right click the shortcut file, select "properties," and on the top line it lists the starting command line. Click at the end of this command line. Add a space, then add "-setup" (without the quotes). Now when you click on the shortcut you get the Tomb Raider setup screen and can select 1280x1024, and below that I usually choose 32 bit.

With a TREP .exe, the level will start after making these selections, and clicking OK.

With NG, choose the resolution and click OK. It says something about resolution set and quits. Starting the .exe file isn't automatic (usually, although sometimes it does start with NG). You have to click on the .exe file, and it will start up with your selected resolution.

Very nice information but that is not what he was asking for.
He wanted to play TR IV again and not custom levels.
So best read with open eyes? :D
Oops, I did it again... Image

I found a solution http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showthr ... ight=patch, but unfortunately the topic is old and the links are now invalid. I wrote the author of patches, but so far no answer.

Hi agentpat. As you can see from the post you linked to, mizuno_suisei was unable to come up with a widescreen patch for TR IV. As far as I know, no such patch exists (and believe me, I have tried hard to find one! ). :( Your best bet is to play in 1280x1024.

If you want the other two patches mentioned in that post - the Patched TOMB4.exe V2 and Camera Lock patch - I have them, and can send them to you if you like. :) But they have nothing to do with widescreen, of course.

Download from here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ncmvax. Both the files are in one compressed folder. :)
