Screen all black in Tomb Raider II Revised

Lara's Home is working perfectly fine, but when I select the actual game the screen just goes black and only the environment sounds are heard.

I once used to have some specific program that made every TR game compatible with newer Windows (except for TR1). Don't know anything about any of that anymore, but maybe somebody else does?

The savegames load just fine, but I can't pass the level. When I reach the finish trigger it just gives me the stats and does not load the next level. Can anyone please provide me savegames with the beginnings of each of the levels?

Right, you meant TR II Revised! Ok, have you tried disabling the FMVs? Just a thought.

The FMVs are always disabled.

If that problem is the one I'm thinking of, then it seems to be some sort of inherent glitch with that version of the NGLE, whereby the game slows down quite a bit after a few consecutive reloads. It eventually loads, but then runs awfully slow. The only way to fix it is to shut down the game, then reopen it.

This is not the problem at hand. When I select "New Game" the screen goes black and only the sound is heard, and it happens like this no matter how many times I quit and restart the game. I can play it through loading a savegame, but it doesn't load the next level when I reach the finish trigger of the current level I am. I just need someone to give me savegames in the starting points of each level and I'd be able to play it again.

as jorge says it's cos of fmv's
you can turn it of in setup or install klite codec pack
but if you don't want do do either
just hit esc key
cos active movie player start when you select new game
and hit esc key every time a fmv start
