I am on Win 7 Prof 64 bit.
I am playing TR Requiem (latest download -- post December 2016)
I set 1600x900x32 (on a 1920x1280 flat screen monitor) and windowed mode
Alpha 32 bit 888
When selected, the diary shows a completely black screen until dismissed.
If I setup for 1920x1280x32 full screen the diary pages show up.
Display is a NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 (Bog standard low end graphic card)
The Diary in Wreck of the Blue Storm displays fine in windowed mode.
BTW The answer "Well play full screen then" is NOT acceptable.
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions please.
Cheers, Mike.

Re: Diary is black screen in windowed mode
try this..
double click on the exe to run the game, but before it starts (you should see a little grey box with a "Press CTRL for setup" writing), press CTRL, and in setup window that pops up to you, try one of the emergency settings

Re: Diary is black screen in windowed mode
but why do u have smaller resolution when u have 1920x1280 screen (shouldn't it be 1920x1080)
its doesn't matter when u play in windows mode ??

Re: Diary is black screen in windowed mode
Hi Vimmers, Psiko
I tried all the emergency setting; didn't help.
I want it big (and 16:9) but not the full desk top (to leave room for other stuff)
And (as I DID say) I do not want to go full screen!
BTW, the version of the NG Dll is 1.2.2.7
Also I never use Aero mode.
So, anyone else have any ideas?
Cheers, Mike.

Re: Diary is black screen in windowed mode
If you have a 1.2.2.6 dll handy, you could try swapping it out and see if it helps?
I know when it's 1.2.2.6, diaries are black in fullscreen mode (at least for me). But when it's 1.2.2.7 then it works - so maybe it has the opposite effect on windowed mode. Probably not that simple but worth a shot.

I have finally revisited this issue and THANKS JesseJesseG wrote: ↑26 Mar 2017 04:22If you have a 1.2.2.6 dll handy, you could try swapping it out and see if it helps?

Using v 1.2.2.6 dll does work for me when I run in windowed mode.

I copied it from "A Little Gift" that I had previously downloaded. (Just as an example.)
However, caveat emptor (let the buyer beware). My saved games do not work

Thank you once more Jesse.
Cheers, Mike.
Re: Diary is black screen in windowed mode
Glad to hear it worked. Strange that the higher version fixes the issue for full screen and breaks it for windowed...guess you can't have it all!
