Antivirus problem

Post by Fern » 06 Mar 2017 00:23

I seem to have a problem with CaC7-kaufilc-SearchForTheSunSeraph and my antivirus which is Kaspersky. Every time I try running the exe my antivirus runs off with it to quarantine. I was able to play CaC8-DCW123-RomeBetaDemo, which appears to be in the same set, with no problems.

The .exe is a "patched" one, it means modifications were made to it. Your scanner sees it as dangerous, but it isn't. Turn off real-time protection or add the exe to the "exceptions" list. There are many of these patched exe's lately, so better find out how to deal with them

Thank you. Now all I have to do is find out how to do exclusions on my antivirus. Or play offline and turn it off.

Try to Google "kaspersky exceptions" and you'll get here...https://support.kaspersky.com/12160, probably they explain how to do it...

I do the same with my Avast scanner, it alerts immediately after unzipping the folder with the exe in it, I add it to exceptions and never have to anything else

I'm having this issue more and more.
I use Avast (paid version) and have excluded the tomb4 file forever
but recently it began eating certain ones and always the tomb files
that are renamed after the level. Recently Luds Gate is impossible
to run properly. I try using a tomb files from other levels and sometimes
it works. Had to do that with Parrots Cove.

I'd appreciate if someone can show me exactly how to exclude Luds Gate
from Avast. Below is my normal setting for the tomb file but like I said, sometimes it eats those anyway.

Drat! I can't see how to upload pic. Under exclusions - File Path - I have
*tomb4.exe

PS can we no longer upload pics?

Use Avg. Many Tomb4.exe (including mine) are modified with the FLEP, and the antivirus blocks them. Or play offline.

I have not tried Luds gate, but it is better to use AVG

 Thank You Michael,
That worked for Lud's Gate. :2thumbsup:

I have tried with other exe files in the past to change them
but it'll want me to put in a password. And other tomb4 named files
don't work for me with some levels I download, so I play musical
tomb files to find one that will work.

I figure it just another puzzle to solve to play the game.

Thanks again to you and everyone else for the responses.

Happy Raiding kids :D

I have a Problem with Avira

I have put the TR Folder (the Play Folder with all new Levels) to the Exception List. This worked until now. But now recognizes Avira the Exe in the new Level by Ray Croft as Malware. I cannot understand, why Avira is doing this.
Resistance is futile

This time I am having problems with AVG! But the problem is when the my Tomb4.exe is loaded by the editor (with the Yellow Play command--> Play--> NG_Tomb2pc--> Tomb4.exe). Until a couple of hours ago I had no problems... now continues to delete the Tomb4.exe. If I click on the icon inside the Editor folder it works. Why?! :-o :-o

Looks like a temporary folder, but I can't find it. And there is no longer the option "ignore anywhere the tomb4.exe" present in the old version of Avg :bomb:

EDIT: This morning Windows did an update and it fixed everything. :2thumbsup:

Sincerly it can be too on the editor folder :-P
If you need to change some things on tomb4.exe, with TREP or FLEP, you can test it too on the editor folder :)
