Keyboard Setup

Post by José » 27 Dec 2015 13:43

For some inexplicable reason, some changes in the configuration keys appeared for all the custom levels I have in my PC, and I'm not able to change the setup to restore the default options and, of course, play more levels.
Please, where is the config archive for the default settings?
Thanks in advance.

Hej, José.

In Windows up to Win7 (assuming also Win8?) those are also stored in Windows's own registry.

■Start -> Run -> type regedit. In Windows7, it then asks if you want to continue with admin rights : yes.
In the registry editor, on the left, browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Core Design.

If you want you can save the status quo by doing a right-mouse-button click on the Tomb Raider Level Editor folder and choose "Export".
Restoring then would be starting regedit again, from the menu choose "import" and in the open-file dialogue pick the previously exported *.reg file .

But - first exporting or not, the important thing is : Delete the Tomb Raider Level Editor folder within Registry editor.
Then quit the registry editor.
Windows has now "forgotten" all its settings that were used for TRLE games, so everything TRLE is back to defaults.
When you now start a tomb4.exe the setup should automatically pop up. Pick your choices, and remember : NEVER "cancel" the setup!

You will also need to reconfigure in-game settings : sound quality, volume, and control configuration in case you changed sth. there (like using a gamepad).
Thou shall not mess with Lara's resting animation. NEVER. EVER!

Thank you very much, snork! :worship:
I've deleted that entry in the registry and all works OK now. :sweatdrop:
Now I'll be able to finish the walkthrough I'm writing.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

I know this is not related to the particular subject, but I really advice everybody to buy the most simple controller. It's like 80% easier to play and there are no technical problems.

EDIT: Sorry for reviving the old topic, I saw the date was 27th but I didn't see it was previous month :D

you can use snorks method
and u will be prompted with the setup next time you start a new game
or you can create a shortcut of tonb4.exe
then rightclick on that shortcut
and add setup in the box there are named destination after tomb4.exe"
then it should looks like this
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Core Design\trle\tomb4.exe" setup
it can looks different on your pc cos it's depending on what folder you have the exe in

I used his because I don't have tomb4.exe in regedit. Would it be safe to delete the level editor and reinstall it maybe?
