HP screen problems

Post by Jorge22 » 29 Sep 2014 20:20

Suddenly, today, my screen (HP Pavilion 23 xi) became somewhat bluish/greenish on the left side and you can tell the pixels comparatively. Anybody knows anything about this issue and how it could be easily fixed? Thanks.

EDIT: I went out for 10 minutes and when I came back and turned the PC on again, the screen was (is) back to normal. Really weird. I'm afraid it may go back to the same...

Any chance You put some magnet next to the monitor? We had this issue when we moved the speakers too close to our TV - but this was long ago and not LCD for sure.

Nope, I read about that actually. It just happened and as it happened it later went away, rather strange...

If the laptop case isn't stable enough, and/or of the LCD cable goes near its crucial points, some pins might have been unplugged/plugged again.

Yes, either that or... now that I come to think of it, I do have a couple of speakers behind the screen. I have to have them some place. Are they magnets? :? Anyway, it's always been like that and it was the first time I had this kind of issue (save for screens that were going kaput, which is a different story). Fortunately, the screen's ok now, don't ask me why. :)

In the meantime, I pushed the speakers a bit to the side, just in case. Unfortunately, I'm having the very same issue... again! :(

How long have you had the monitor for? Sounds like the hardware is wearing out, sadly... perhaps you can look up the issue online, maybe others have experienced this before.

If you could manage to get a photo of the problem it could help.

Could it be some moisture got in the side of the screen while cleaning? had it with a laptop once (drink fell over it)
