xp sound recorder

Post by mugs » 17 Jun 2013 04:39

I have just updated my hard drive to include windows 7, former user of windows xp. I did a lot of sound editing using the XP sound recorder. windows 7 has no such animal. I was reading that people have been able to add the XP sound recorder and use it successfully. has anyone else encountered this problem and can you offer an alternative to the XP Sound Recorder?

yes, I know that, but if you check you'll see that it records voices only - it will not let you edit sounds (splice, merge, etc.). I'm looking for software that allows that kind of editing.

Audacity sounds ideal, but unfortunately it's loaded with malware and there's a warning attached to the downloads.

Next question, does anyone have a copy of the windows xp sound recorder that I can have since mine no longer exists?
