Suspected Trojan

Post by agentpat » 06 Feb 2013 17:43

In Tomb Raider Revelations IV - The Curse of the Sword (Demo) has a trojan.
I sent a file tomb4.exe on https://www.virustotal.com/ and really was found to be infected. This is the first time that happened to me here.

It definitely doesn't have anything like that. I've played it, many people have, no problems at all! I think that site suspects it to be one because the tomb4.exe is modified. If you downloaded the level from here or some other well-known TRLE sites, I can assure you it's safe. :)

Avira Antivir makes that often, that's the reason why I must deactivate Avira, when the Level has a modified/patched Exe.
Resistance is futile

Not only Avira report it as a trojan. Avast too!

I'm using Avast and I never got any warnings like that and could play the level fine, just like all the other ones. Again, if you downloaded the level here on trle.net or on other sites (treditor.hu, laraslevelbase.org, aspidetr.org) then I'm sure it's a false alert. Antivirus programs tend to recognize modified executables (the tomb4.exe files are modified by some level building tools like TRNG, TREP, FLEP.) as harmful programs, yet it's not true, it's a false report.
