Has anyone fixed this? Is there a patch? I am still getting no luck and am stuck as to what to do.

zodiac_666, if you have read through all the responses and nothing has worked, maybe a complete uninstall of trle and then a new install will work....sorry if you already mentioned trying that - it was what finally worked for me

I have never used TRLE on windows 8 just clicked the exe file from the download. Been doing that on XP for years with no problems, don't know why it don't work now. Do I have to download TRLE manager then?

I tried clicking setup and it tells me it cannot find the file

yes, that's the response I got (no path to the file) until I uninstalled and then reinstalled a fresh trle

On my laptop w8..these are my settings and it works perfect for me.

1 output resolution 1360x768 32bits
2 texture bit depth 16bits rgba 5551
3 primary sound driver
4 disable emergency
5 render options
check off hardware accelerator
check off bi linear filtering
nothing else.

Hope this helps someone out there

None of these things worked for me sadly. Thanks for all the effort from everyone though. I just tried playing them like I did on my XP from the exe file but maybe I will try the trle manager. :anxious:

My computer died last weekend but I managed to resurrect it with a complete reinstall. Fortunately I seem to have most of my junk backed up so hopefully all is well but on trying to reinstall the level editor (the original program from the disk) - I click on the setup file (running it as administrator and in compatibility mode for XP etc) - nothing happens. And this poor old lady cannot remember what she did the last time she installed the editor. Same computer so no reason for it not work. So why does it not do anything when I click on setup? I do get the "Do you want this program to make changes" etc etc message but that's all, no error messages or anything. Help please?

Edit: only difference now is that I've updated to windows 8.1 but the editor ran fine with that before the Big Bang last weekend.

Edit2: Working OK now
