Volumetrix FX

Post by Jay » 07 Mar 2007 19:21

My apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm mystified as to why I can no longer turn Volumetrix FX on. I used to be able to alter it, but nowadays it just won't hold that setting. It's frustrating not being able to see a level as the builder intended.

Any ideas?

Jay,any settings you alter at setup - screen res,vol FX,bump mapping - will be in place whilst you're playing,as in the first pic..when you quit the game, the settings revert back to the defaults as in the second pic,as they're not saved - you have to reset them each time you play the game :D

Cor, that's a bit technical for me, sweetie.

I don't know why I can't see any mist or fog effects though. Maybe later. Thanks for the help.

I was going to post a picture of the Graphics Configuration settings here so that I could ask a few questions.
I noticed Chrimajons picture, so I will use that instead ( cheers Chrim' saves me a bit of work  )
OK I was wondering what the different setting do in the Render Options panel.

Hardware Acc, Software mode ,Volumetric FX , NO FMV .............. I know what they do, so fine there

It is just the others ; Bilinear Filtering , Low Res' textures , Low res' bump maps that I am NOT too clued up on......
I guess they are to do with the textures and / or detail in the game, but not sure what does what
anyone care to explain
