Hi.
How can I add style to the reviews? Like bold and italic text? :)

In response to Gorty's critical review of my game 'The Black Diamond Part 1'. Thank you for the review.
I do agree after briefly playing it that there are a number of floating patches of grass, there are a few textures which need correcting and the lighting does not change throughout level 1, and I think a few more objects and nicer textures on the village area would have helped. However, I do feel that saying there are thousands of floating objects is exaggerating. You have to understand, that I have problems with my sight including colour blindness, so even after spending all my spare time every day for 7 months creating this, there may always be stuff I just can't see. I think the floating grass shows up more because of the sloping ground but because it's white I didn't notice it that well. I also think if you are not an English speaker, then level 2 especially would've been very difficult to know what to do.

Seriously tho, a "4" for objects in a level which has them entirely customized is just nonsense.

Agree with DJ's statement.

I'd also like to point out that even though one enjoys seeing "perfection" in things and going "wow" at architectures etc., maybe that's not the whole point and a game doesn't need "perfection" to be a great game.
To stress that view, there are tons of very cleverly designed games that are really just booooooring and make me want to go to work instead.

Agreed. I would much rather a game be engrossing and fun to play than worrying too much about the tiny technicalities which are usually unnecessary for my playing experience. :)

Still awaiting the euphoria I'll undoubtedly experience when playing Gorty's first level.

I'm glad some of you like what I do, but you're probably just a 'niche market'. Anyway, that will not put me off - I'll work on the 1943 finale this year, then next year, I'll probably look at doing a Tomb Raider game....

I personally enjoy levels which are not strict TR. As the definition says, those are custom levels. CUSTOM. Yet people expect them to be classic. I remember when I first came here, this kind of creativity was actually highly praised and expected, just because people had enough of 700+ egyptian levels... Now people got too much variety, so they expect nostalgia instead... Crystal Dynamics obviously won't provide it so they rather expect to find it here, and when they don't get it here as well, they blame custom builders instead of original game developers. No wonder we're not meeting requirements but we actually can't. I'm quite sure "Astrodelica" would end up rated to 7.50 if it was released today. Just do your stuff, if you feel it makes sense, and don't let anybody discourage you.

Why are reviews consistently piling up for days at a time?
