Seeing ropes in sky.

Post by Colin Benson » 28 Sep 2016 04:22

I have a strange graphics problem in my level. It seems as though Lara can see triggered ropes in the last section of my level floating in the sky. If I start Lara in the room without triggering the ropes, they obviously aren't visible. Though it's no big problem if I can't fix this glitch, as I can simply texture this section of my level with plain bricks or stone but if it's fixable, let me know.

Here's one screenshot:

Unfortunately, any sprite like rope or fire is visible through transparency.
What you may try is action/flipeffect to move the rope away.
Activated on condition when Lara is in this room and restored when she quits.

Thanks for the reply. I decided to simply raise all the rooms 40 units higher so the ceiling windows don't "see" the ropes.

What DJ said or you can just antitrigger them? Might not work so well in all situations though.

Wow! I thought you couldn't antitrigger ropes but I tried it out and you CAN antitrigger ropes.

Indeed you can. That was the usual way to fix this before TRNG, conditions etc. But it has its limits of course and if you want them to be removed/back etc. many times, conditions are probably better to save yourself from many triggers in the map hehe :)
