Ok, so... Spikes?

Post by Alexandre Simões » 27 Apr 2014 03:13

Howdy. I am currently working on a nevada level, and I have some barbed wire in the teeth spikes slot. How do I place it? I mean, if I just place it it doesn't appear, and if I put a trigger, it floats, and intermitently disappears :P Help?

It depends on your room orientation. Refer to the Teeth Spikes Tutorial here:
http://www.skribblerz.com/tutspikes.htm
You will need one of the OCB's for 'Spikes out constantly' (probably 20 or 28).
Also if you press all 5 code bits in the OCB box of the Spikes, they will be triggered automatically and will not need an in-game trigger to be placed.

Thanks :D But something weird is happening - the whole square where the spikes are gives health damage, even when walking slowly. Just standing there subtracts health :P Tips?

tip #1 - don't stand there. :D

sorry! I was just being silly, but actually that's what spikes are meant to do - give damage. maybe you could explain what you are trying to do.
Of doggie candle fame!

Ahahah :D I'm trying to get that tr3/tr2 effect, i.e. when you stand in a square with spikes you only lose life if you move, and if you walk slowly you either lose less of it or you don't lose it at all. Maybe it's impossible with tr4 :P

"Old school" teethspikes, as they are usually referred to, are only possible with TRLE+TREP or TRNG.
Nothing is in contradiction with nature,
only in contradiction with what we know of it.

Go into the patches section and find the one about old school teethspikes.
I haven't used TREP in ages so I can't remember exactly but I do remember that it is a simple matter of ticking the patch.
