Download level editor
I've downloaded it, only now I have a problem.
I have something labeled trle_full_image.iso, but it's a winRAR archive, and when I open it, it brings up a bunch of reaaallly technical looking stuff, and I don't have the first clue what to do.
Help?

*.iso files are not associated with winrar. They are CD images - sort of like CD's that can be run from your computer. To get to installing the LE, you need programs that create virtual CD/DVD-roms like Daemon tools (freeware as far as known to me). With these you just load the ISO files - and then you will be able to install the level editor as if you were running it from a CD

actually that is not entirely true, you can make .iso files associated with winrar by choosing the file type when you install the program. but, if you did not then go into the settings and selecting integration then marking iso. then winrar will read iso files. then all you have todo is burn what is in the iso file to a cd. that way you can install trle from a cd.eTux wrote:*.iso files are not associated with winrar. Re: Download Level Editor
I don't know where to ask.
Why all TOM files are changed into tr4?
Why all TOM files are changed into tr4?
Re: Download Level Editor
Because a lot of new players couldn't convert the files on their computers.
Also installing them, gave a problem.
So to make things easy for everybody, all the files that came as a TOM (or even a PRJ) were converted to a TR4 file.

Re: Download Level Editor
But when you run the level editor, you get the following error:
"Failed to setup DirectX"
However Directx is installed on the machine. Itried with both Version 9 and 10
Any clues ??
Thanks for your response

Re: Download Level Editor
Depending on where you got the level editor it might have installed DirectX 6 on your computer. This is very bad. If DirectX 6 was installed, uninstall it and the LE. Then reinstall the LE but say NO to DirectX.
I know this is the case with the LE that comes with TR Chronicles. I don't know if the various downloadable versions also do this, but that is what it sounds like to me.
If that isn't the problem, first uninstall LE then reinstall in your Documents folder.
The next thing to do would be to make sure you run the setup before you try to do anything else. This should be listed in the Start Menu.
