BtB2020 - Public Choice Winner - Voting

Post by MichaelP » 24 Jul 2020 11:30

This poll is to give everyone with a trle.net forum account an opportuity to vote for your 3 favorite levels of the BtB2020 package!

It will remain open until 11:30am CET on Aug 28, 2020 and then the level with the most votes will be the winner of the "Public Coice Prize", which will be handed out separately from the prizes for the top 3 levels based on the review scores.

You are free to change your votes as many times as you like until the deadline and you are also free to pick only 1 or 2 if you wish.

HAPPY VOTING!

Great idea, thanks. I would suggest one further qualifier on the honor system, that no one register any choices until all 16 levels have been played.

Nice Idea. Just a doubt, are the players allowed to vote Just for one or two levels ? Now there are 34 votes and i think people are not voting for all 3 favorite levels since 34 isn't a 3 multiple. It should be 33 or 36 by now... (if 11 or 12 people voted for all 3 favorites).

Same here... only voted for 2 and left one for later. However, now that I want to use my 3rd vote, it seems that I cannot change or add it. :(

I have asked the Boss to add my 3rd vote.

Yes, will make sure to add Liz's vote manually. Something odd going on there as I even put it into the database directly and it still does not show up in the above results.

Can somebody else confirm or deny that you would be able to CHANGE the votes that you have submitted? It works for me, but being an admin, I am not sure it works for others (even though it should actually...)

That doesn't seem to work for me. When I load up the thread, instead it just displays the total votes for each level instead of giving the tick boxes to allow you to choose or modify your votes.

Just done my three and I seem to have voted with the majority. Garden of the Four Seasons seems to be well ahead at present.

I guess the winners here will be naturally coincide mostly with the winners of the competition (if not all coincide). At least what i see is just a reflection of the reviews. But its nice experiment though, specially because it will probably take into consideration people that do not review levels (but it won't take lots of points of views from people outside the trle.net community). I know that its a trle.net competition but in this case perhaps a more general vision from more communities could be more complete and give a little bit more diference compared to the main competition results. Since its "public choice" it would be more interesting if it was really public for more people... ( but it would be necessary to think other means for questionare and to control votes outsider this community as well). But this is something to think for future competitions after we see the results.

Thanks for checking Ryan - so apparently the feature about being able to re-submit votes is not working as expected - too bad :(

So be warned - you only have one opportuity to submit your votes, so choose wisely :)

Adriel - fair point, but actually even that would not be so hard to accomplish. We could have a similar voting exercise organized and the most common communities, like TRF and aspide, tr.hu and maybe a few others- BUT - as we can see already here - the results would not end up being entirely different anyway.

Like I keep saying - despite all the fears and doubts people occasionally raise about how the whole reviewing system is so "flawed", "biased", "open to mis use and fakes" etc etc, it actually delivers a rather decent reality of the communities perception of the great work the level builders provide for them to enjoy. And while individual tastes are all so different - with enough critical mass providing their input, the overarching trends end up being the same wherever you look and whoever you ask... ;)
