No October thread yet?

Post by Jorge22 » 10 Oct 2018 13:15

Wow, I just got Supernatural - seasons 1 to 12 (subtitles only in English, oh well) for 75 € (postage and VAT included) out of Amazon! I already had season 4 but one measly season costs around 50 € at FNAC and FNAC sucks at the present moment - they'll go "Oh, that's too old already, you'll never get it". I already watched season 13 but that's a different story and there are quite a few seasons I never watched before. I like to follow the series on AXN Black, not on the net or something and season 14 may only be watchable next year, I guess. Hyper cool, I've got a total of 286 episodes to watch and I'm a huge fan! I mean, the wife and I, both huge fans!

12 seasons would have costed about 600 € at FNAC - preposterous.

Other than that, still no October thread? :?

Happy October everyone! :D

rip the dvds
find your subtitle on subscene or open subtitles or other subtitle sites
there fit your dvd
and either burn it or send the files to a usb stick
use usb on your tv
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_Decrypter

tada :D easy right :D
i used dvd decrypter years ago when i bought x-files
but i hated the nordic subtitles they was plain white and very small
so i ripped the dvd's and used the ripped subtitles
in a player i could change size and color

and yes it's legal for your own use

Thanks, mate. But, you know what, I just tried one DVD, like just the start, just to be sure all was right, and... I can get Portuguese subtitles by browsing the subtitles menu in the command! Even though the pack says only English subtitles. Wow. That's a great thing. I mean, I could watch it in English with or without subtitles but subtitles make it smoother (and here we always had subtitles, except for most of the cartoons that are destined to children; so, it's a habit. Not a bad one either, because one gets to listen to English - or other languages but most things are in English - from an early age instead of listening to everything dubbed in Spanish or French, for instance, and then being unable to speak a different language properly. Plus, it's the original).

good news jorge
and yes we also always had subtitles on our tv channels here in DK
and i think that countries there use dubbed speech
on the movies are 1 of the reason that many people
can't speak/read english or even theres own language
we were forced to learn to read
and it's looking awful to watch a dubbed movie
i can watch all europe through satellite
and watching a danish movie in german FEKS
looks plain stupid watching there's mouth speak

@Bene
I'm sure she'd love that people are still enjoying her work and remembering her as a wonderful person.

@Bene. Yes, I know my dear. It's going to be so sad this Christmas when the advent levels come out and no wonderful level from Pat to cheer us all up. I shall revisit some of her old levels and remember her fondly. She gave us so much.

And .... Happy October lovely people (bit late, but who cares). :D

Happy October from me too :)

Just an idea came to my mind, not that many ideas are comming to my mind lately, but regarding those `Happy Birthday` threads, which from my personal point of view are mostly really unnecessary, I mean I don`t see a problem congratulating the celebrant, however I do see a little annoying clicking on a chat forum section a then seeing that about 75% or more are Happy Birthday topics... So why not to open one Big `Happy Birthday` thread and when anyone wants to congratulate to anyone at anytime then he/she can do it right in that thread by mentioning his/her name/username? So instead of creating individual HB threads I think a one thread for the whole community would do it just fine or? :?

I think that's ok but un-ok for the reason that it'd make things rather mixed up, confusing and impersonal. In the end, it would kill the happy birthday threads, believe me, that's obvious. Furthermore nothing much is said in the Chat section. Don't you agree?

If you had at least spoken of a happy birthday section, well... But even that would contribute to empty the Chat.

I say - and I say it most friendly - if you don't want to celebrate people's birthdays, don't. Nobody has to. Cool? :)

It's starting to get really cold at my place. I cought a cold and am slowly getting better. My 4th day today... My nose is full and my head mildly hurts. Everything is getting on my nerves, even the fact that I should brush my teeth already and go to sleep...
I'm thinking of creating my own webpage about tr and my travels. But I simply am not smart and patient enough to create one of those modern webpages... Where is that good old simple html. :D
And last but not least. I am working on a big new project. :D But it is not Tr related. I still have a lot of unfinished Tr projects on my backup, I am even working very slowly on one of those...

Could it be The Experiment 3 (Part 3) by any chance? :D
