Creepy users. The Big Brother's eyes. They scan sites for search indexing (officially), but also to understand our preferences... what we want, what we vote, what we have in mind... This is the world we created. :(

I use firefox. I tried no-script once but it's too restrictive for my taste. Currently I use only the plugin adblock plus for advertising banners and nothing else. :)

Yeah, walk past a shopwindow, have a look what they sell, then when you're home you get a message on your phone about a special offer from that shop....
Visit a site because you are looking for sorts of treatment for a medical issue, next day the e-mails roll in about offers, new medications...
What do you mean.. Big brother is watching...everybody is watching!

I know, everybody is watching and everybody is visible, but you are considering only the most evident category of watchers: the sellers. I don't know if a Big Brother exist and I don't want to be too philosophic, in the best case I think it's sad to watch someone because he/she can be a possible buyer.

Well, just try searching for, say, real estate and next you'll get your PC flooded with real estate ads. I actually don't care as I can just ignore everything and go on as usual. I never bought anything by impulse. Still, I never really understood what they were doing here...

As a matter of fact, I got a pesky Battleland Royale Hack from right here on my cell/mobile and as I'm not a cell phone expert I haven't managed to get rid of it yet. That is annoying. Of course I deleted my history and used Malwarebytes but to no avail.

Yes. Maybe. It's not a game, more like a promotional page inviting me to join. And it came up after I used the one-hour pre-paid hotel wi-fi in Cuba (they assure nothing) and my email started going crazy until I simply disconected. So, the hack seems to be a hack even though not really harmful, just annoying. Since it's that kind of page and not the game itself (I think), I'm not sure. Still, I'll check it out. Thanks for the heads up, who knows?

I checked. It's no program, at least one that shows up. Just a freaking unrequested publicity page and I was hacked......

The phone shop doesn't know how to get rid of that for you?
