July 2016

A good start for a new month. Germany defeated Italy after penalty shootout in the European Championship. A thrilling match it was until the end with more luck for the German Team. I Keep fingers crossed for Iceland. Nothing against the French Team but Iceland is the Underdog and I like them.

Happy July, everyone! Summer is nearly upon us. Although you wouldn't think it over here in the UK, the weather can't seem to make its mind up! :|

Nice and warm over here, which was great for barbecue and smores yesterday with the family, before we celebrated the 4th with some mini fireworks in the driveway. :D

I only have three more weeks of classes left, which is a relief for me. I have been crazed with school work all year and it will be nice to just kick back and relax for a while. 8)

@Jesse. Glad you had a great time. :2thumbsup:

This 4th of July weekend has been awesome! Between a candy-filled parade, mechanical bull riding, a quilt display, a dunk tank, a demolition derby, book signings, bison tacos, brisket, fly-fishing in a stream (no fish caught though)...it's been great! Today, I'll get to try human foosball! :2thumbsup:

No I wasn't the ball in any way. :D Collisions with the ball were possible though. I lost two games, but it was a good experience.

I also tried again the dunk tank and dunked someone! :2thumbsup:

Driving home last night we saw many different community fireworks displays....beautiful!
We even had our own where we were visiting.

It seems to have become a 2 night celebration :) :) :)

Happy 4th! :fireworks3:

That's wonderful bene! In the town I'm in, the celebration lasts 4 days, with fireworks tonight.

I got to play tug-of-war (won the first game, lost the second one) after fishing in a stream (didn't catch anything, but it is different from fishing in a lake...).

@bene

It really is a 2nd home for me. It's pretty amazing to be in a town where teenagers can notice my performance in tug-of-war, and have an opportunity to play American football just before the fireworks started.

I would like to stay past October, this is the most suitable place I've been to so far! Otherwise, I have the keys to feel more rooted in a place.

Now I'm back to work, and motivated to understand streams in the context of fish habitat.
