Now I'm wondering about the ing-form of lie and lay.

If I lie on my bed right now, I'm ???-ing.

If my current action is to lay something on the table, I'm ???-ing something.

Is the word/spelling in both cases "lying"? Or am I wrong?

one of the worst cases of errors in English......

My take (and it could be wrong):

If I lie on my bed right now, I'm lying.

If my current action is to lay something on the table, I'm laying something.
Of doggie candle fame!
