Sorry, I didn't want to report any issues with the engine, but I just wanted to explain that these issues (or other new ones) could give any trouble to level builders during the competition.
From this point of view probably the trep+ngle engine we used is better than trng.
That just my opinion, of course. :D

As much as I’d love to learn how to use TRNG properly (and that could take more time than the competition itself), I believe that TREP should stay. I’ve tried TRNG several times and it got mixed with my TREP files and I almost lost my current level set because of this (thanks to my backups it never fully happened). I’m sure I followed all the steps, all the possible installations…, but it never worked or corrupted what I had done previously :? .

I also wish that TREP could be extended somehow, more than it is at the moment; because it is a wonderful tool and it still can give us a lot of fun. So, because as easy as it is and as stable as it is, TREP should stay as usual :) .

I'm a newbie but I have the feeling that it's not the first time there is a long debate about TRep vs TRNG...

I think there's always been a debate. For me, I like TRNG over TREP simply because I downloaded it before TREP therefore it was readily available much more than TREP. I've tried TREP before and the only thing I had accomplished was switching the color bars and changing Lara's gravity to zero.

Well, I suggest an area/environment Lara hasn't visited much in the official games: the ancient civilizations of Africa (like Great Zimbabwe). Only Legend visited Ghana.

So we already have textures and suggestions for objects/traps from Legend. When it comes to enemies, many from previous levels can be recycled: spiders, snakes, monkeys, lions and hostile tribesmen.

The environment also gives great possibilities: jungle, ruins, rocks.

My money's on Africa!

Sorry for bump but is the discussion over?

Another question from my friend which asks when the BtB 2014 package will be available for public download?

You both run a serious risk of seeing your money vanish, either in Africa or in space, lol. But they're both great themes, agreed. :)

Yes I think 2014 is well done and dusted. :D This thread was started simply as a discussion thread for people to voice ideas - not to decide anything. So at this stage there is nothing to resolve.
I am taking a much needed short break from the project and most things TRLE related as I am burnt out. I have been very clear on communicating information on the project in the past, and will continue to do so. For now just be patient please. When there is updated info, I will be sure to post it.
