Post by Christian » 05 May 2013 12:58

Are there just any ideas?
I think 'Lord of the rings' could have some potential???

That would scratch the last bit of "basics" out of "back to basics" if it was still existent - but why not? :D

Personnaly ? I am not against a original btb with original wad like 2005 or 2009 (with this time, library, gard, new city and angkor wad).
But a package with a new editor (because the original roomeditor was maybe to old for some computer) and a new tomb4 extented like steampunk or Northern legend.
But of course, another beautiful package like this year will be welcome. :2thumbsup:

Hey,

I'm sure there will be another BtB after Northern Legends, seeing the great enthusiasm with which these events are always greeted, from builders, players and reviewers alike :D

Concerning the theme, I'd say that we will have another public vote here to decide on that, but only after a handful of possible (and realistic!) theme options are prepared/researched and we got a crew to handle the package building and organisation process :)

But for now, we still got the BtB Northern Legends competition going on :D I'd like to see that to the end first before taking care of the next issue of BtB ;)

I'm a Lord of the Rings fan, but here are the issues I see with this suggestion.

1. Pity the poor buggers who would try to build the objects, since LOTR fans are fanatical, and highly critical in their interpretation of characters and places.
2. In some ways, some of the architecture e.g. Rivendell is a little similar to what has been produced in Northern Legends this year, so maybe too close to this year's theme.

It's Tomb Raider Jim... but not as we know it.

It's maybe indeed to early to talk about the next competition (which I'll be taking part in again btw. - I missed it this year ^^) but I'd love if the "loser" of last year would be considered a theme for this year. Imagine how incredibly awesome the Khmer-Empire would look with a package built by these highly talented object builders :-o

I think that would be the best idea. So many people were disappointed when the Khmer Empire has lost, that we could satisfy them this time... I mean next time.

I also vote for the Kmer Empire even if I was also very happy of the NL win. I really like the two themes :2thumbsup: .

That's not what I meant :D Of course everyone is free to come up with ideas and share them here. Just don't expect more than that at the moment. Don't crown the new king/BtB unti the old one is dead ;) :tongue2:

Also - I am very enthusiastic about having Khmer Empire be among the theme selection for the next BtB. It's a very classic TR-theme with it roots in the great TR4 Angkor Wat levels and the gorgeous Thailand part of TRU. It is very lush, green, exotic with cool architecture and classic TR temple settings. It would indeed be a great change from the previous BtB themes (city/Venice, industrial/Steampunk, northern/Celtic/Norse).

Khmer Empire would be great for the next BtB. :2thumbsup: The climate would be diametrically opposite to this time's BtB, and Lara would get to explore her own roots as an adventurer by going back to the place where her first Raiding experience took place (in her real - aka Core's - biography, of course, not her fake new life in the recent Reboot :-P ).

And people would finally get their giant spiders they wanted in last package.

Venice is not dead, nor is Steampunk. Our kings abdicate but they never die.

Seeing all the titles of your own levels, I am not surprised, so what is keeping you :D
