Let's Play Tomb Raider - Nautical Style

Post by High Priestess » 16 Oct 2017 18:17

A day early but almost a week has passed so let us get to some ship levels :D

Sadly, I haven't found many nautical levels that have appealed because so many seem to be based on the Maria Doria from TR II.

However Talos' "Fireworks" was a most excellent piece of work - information here:

Video walkthrough here:

This is clearly based on Jim Cameron's "Titanic" and although there is a little backtracking, this level boasts decadence and nice gameplay.

Please feel free to suggest other good levels (shipwrecks and desert islands included!) :2thumbsup:

Wreck of the Blue Storm contains atmospheric settings and brilliant gameplay combined (but quite dark): http://www.trle.net/sc/levelfeatures.php?lid=2721

When you say dark though, do you mean in terms of resolution or a dark story? Lol :-P :D

There are the first level of "Escape in the Pacific" by Daffy where Lara is captive on a cargo :).

Very nice adventure where the player can choose the difficulty he/she want.
I don't know what you want to say exactly by nautical but if I remember well there a are beautiful yacht in "Base near the Ruins" by Sakiel :).

Yes I recall playing Daffy's level - I think this is the one whereby Lara has to do a timed run to blow things up (in customary fashion), and reach the lifeboat in a tightly-timed run. I sure had fun on that one.

Any more good ship levels folks? By the way, there was another level I started playing yet can't remember completing. It started I think on a beach. I know that doesn't help much but it isn't the one with those cages on the shore. I recall there was another female in the mix and this cave that Lara goes into. Something like whisky or a bottle or rum was involved if I remember (my memory is a little sketchy). I would say it was done using either the TR II or III engine so it wasn't that pirate level either. :hammer:

This level is awesome, but the saves don't work on Vista  and I can't do the timed run.

Have you tried setting the compatibility mode to Windows 7 or 8? I believe that the saves only work on those versions. I might be wrong, but that's all I can think of that might be the problem.

Oh! I'm glad to read this

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it (I love Titanic, don't you see? XD)

If you are looking for a sea level and pirates there is also Parrot's Cove. It's not like Fireworks, but if you're looking for drunk pirates, all right

You can also try Tomb Raider the Resurrection: There are levels set aboard a sunken cargo ship, the Karin Vatis
