Rise of the TombRaider

Post by mugs » 03 Jun 2015 13:58

I saw an ad on TV last night for Lara Croft Rise of the TombRaider. Lara is on a mountain ridge doing some rock climbing when an avalanche occurs. What I found disturbing was I could have sworn it was Nicolle Kidman's voice - please say it isn't so!

It's Camilla Luddington still. :p Not sure whether that's a good thing or not. I'm not exactly a fan of her work.

I really enjoyed Survivor, except for the voice-over and Lara grunting, complaining and her never ending "oh god" comments.. It has to be said that certain trle members (one in particular) should have had the Lara voice-over job :-)

I agree about the grouting and sound, when did Lara became a whiner. She is tough as nails, they should really looked into that and made more Tomb Raider than realistically painful. The Game in itself looks awesome except for the Lara's sounds. :hammer: Hope I didn't offend anyone. happy Raiding.

Less winging in this game thank goodness.. not liking the s**t word in almost every sentence tho lol.. Loving the game, i'm on xbox one so had to grab a screen via TV and camera. The textures are fantastic... and i love the sound tracks..

Is that the Sparrowhawk outfit, Val? :D

I finished the game on Xbox 360 this weekend. I'm the usual suspect, but I loved every second of it. Have plenty of collectibles to go after to reach 100% completion though - finished with a measly 76%.

Yes it is the Sparrowhawk outfit, I thought there was also a special bow that came with it but either it comes later or I have no idea how to enable it :D I'm still my usual self, having to collect everything before I leave so I am still lurking about looking for stuff and no where near the end lol

Looks great indeed Sylwia! :2thumbsup: BTW TR2013 had a more violent aspect to it than the Lara we are used to. :|

Agreed Ryan, I was a bit concerned about that when I found out the game was rated M (or 18, or whatever rating system equivalents are out there). I still liked TR 2013 but it was a bit too gritty for me. There are plenty of other darker games out there if players want that so much...but I guess the M rating seems to attract audiences. :?

The good news is, IMO, Rise of the Tomb Raider is actually quite a bit less violent*. I guess they decided Lara had enough of rolling around in human body parts and purposely burning + impaling herself :D Perhaps because she is now established as a survivor, they didn't feel the need to put in as many violently traumatic events as the last game.

*I haven't actually finished the story yet (I am close), so take this with a grain of salt!
