tomb raider underworld at E3

Post by Stewart » 11 Jul 2008 19:21

i was looking at the E3 line-up of upcoming games, and the tomb raider underworld section says it will only be released on ps3,xbox360,pc,wii, and ds. No ps2?... people like me cannot afford a ps3 or xbox360 and i dont think its really fair. but.... if they do decide to relese it on ps2, it will probaly be crappy, graphics poor, cut the game shorter, or something around those lines. it kind of makes me really angry that the ps2 version will probaly have many limitations compared to ps3 and xbox 360 versions. If that happens i think they should at least make multiple discs for the ps2 version to get half of the graphical advantages the ps3/xbox360 has.

Sony would be foolish not to allow it on PS2

the PS3 is out of everyone's league (unless you want a blu-ray player)
it is possibly the most useless console in gaming history, they should have made a version without the blu-ray, but with backwards compatibility

I myself have a 360, so i'll buy every game i can on that system :)

Doesn't the official site say it's coming out for PS2? Or at least it did the last time I checked.

I don't care either way, I'm a PC player. :2thumbsup:

I am starting to think the PS2 is immortal or something. People said Okami would be one of the last high-profile PS2 games. That was released a while ago, and relatively high-profile games are still having PS2 ports (not sure about exclusives).

EDIT:

Yep, seems it's coming out for PS2. I guess they're not showcasing the PS2 port of Underworld at E3 because everyone's going to be focused on current gen features and such.

Wasn't the added PS2 release given as excuse for the delayed release date ?
I voted yes/no because I don't have a PS2, so no sense in buying it , right.

*wonders who will be the first to vote no/yes  *

That's not how it works. More discs don't equal better graphics. :inquisitive:

And yeah, as Cory said, they announced the PS2 version ages ago. And yes, the graphics will be terrible compared to the next-gen (or current-gen or whatever) versions, and the Wii version, despite the Wii being more powerful than the PS2, will look exactly the same. As long as it doesn't affect the real versions of the game, they can release whatever rubbish they want on the PS2.

I'll get the game for the PC, most likely.

Edit: Oh, and the DS version will be absolutely terrible. Mark my words.

What Magnus said. Take a look and compare the ps2 version of the latest "Alone in the dark" and the 360. I bet they will continue to release for ps2 for a long time.

Not sure about this but my bet is that the games for ps2 still sells better than for ps3

i may be able to get one next year! or maybe this year if the price drops again!!! and for ps3... the lowest price for that was $400 :faint:
