A world where the Sun never sets

Post by justin » 17 Aug 2019 16:31

My seventh and final level of Tomb Raider Horizons: Hellgate Saga is well under way, and it's a scorcher...

This final world before the Demon Saga takes Lara to a desert planet where direct exposure to the Sun causes the heat to climb. She will need to stay in the shade to cool down before sprinting to the next section.

I also finished my new load screens, really enjoying the various customize image features to add some extra flare :)

"Where the sun never sets" is music to my ears and balm to my abused eyes as they continue to falter in their attempts to navigate me through the darkness...

I'm interested. :)

Why final? That reminds me of Tarantino saying he'd only make 8 movies, now 10. Or the Stones who used to release their last album and make their last tour on a regular basis...

Thanks! Yes this is just the final level in this first saga of my series (that I admittedly planned to finish many years ago)

Once I wrap this up, I'll have a long complicated beta test, and then I need to convince myself to start the second saga :hammer:

I know your famous Dark Skies series and have played it all. I really love it. But what do you mean "7th and final"? I never see previous 6 levels in trle.net list, only a demo level whose name has "horizons". Where are previous 6 levels?
My heart for Lara is always young!

I'm so ashamed I may never have played your levels, Justin... And I'm perfectly aware of your importance within trle. I did start some level of yours very long ago, something didn't work and I gave up, my recollection and my bad.

As scottchu said, there's a a Horizons demo and that's it. I'm sure it must be less confusing than it seems...

Sorry for the confusion, the first 6 levels haven't been released

They are all being released together, as they are all connected to a hub level :)

As for my earlier levels, only Dark Skies 5-7 and Pirates (Marshlands) are woryh bothering with. Even then, they are so archaic! I'm very glad to know that people still enjoy them though :D

[Expletive deleted]! Au contraire, Justin. Your earlier levels have withstood the test of time quite well, even the very first potboilers that may have been plagued with a bug or two. I replayed them all not long ago and was thoroughly entertained. As you know, I honed my walkthrough writing skills, such as they are, on your levels, relying on your always faithful assistance. Looking forward to the release of your latest project. Maybe your children (I assume you have more than one by now) are old enough to beta test them for you!

You're always the best, Phil :D

And she has been testing some stuff for me :)
