Tomb Raider: Anniversary II - Definitive Demo

Post by Jorge22 » 20 Jan 2019 12:57

Please, read the final part: http://forum.trle.net/viewtopic.php?f=2 ... 88#p775088

I did just like I said I would. Trashed the exe, trashed the transfer and replaced the exe by Cakeworld Rebaked's that usually does the trick. Virus Total says (most of the programs, the important ones at least, it's all fine).
But after the load screen, my screen goes black and I can't even use the task manager to stop the program, it remains black and the only way is to fullky disconnect the PC which, by the way and not at all subjectively, became just a little slower.
I suppose it should be some compatibility issue.

Any solution? Like would a regular tomb4.exe work? Anything?

Thanks.

Jorge, it's probably the FMV sequence causing the game to crash. You can actually disable FMVs by selecting the respective option in the tomb4 setup screen (double click on the tomb4, quickly press Ctrl and then select the checkbox that allows you to do that. I believe that it's called "Disable FMVs" but I can't remember off the top of my head). Let me know if this helps. :)

Thanks, I'll try that later. :)

It doesn't simply crash. I get a black screen and can't get out of it unless I turn everything off. But it's worth a try.

You were right, Ryan. I checked "No FMV" and now it works. Thank you so much. :2thumbsup:

hit esc key dear
it's the fmv there are black on your pc

If you have problems in viewing FMVs in-game (but not on your media player), you probably need to download some of the needed codecs. You can find the best codec collector here:
https://filehippo.com/download_klite_mega_codec/
It's the K-lite codecs tool.
Codecs are needed by multimedia players and those ones were tested by Delta, Siphon and me :) They should fix even crash problems when trying to load an fmv or freezing pc on the same situation.
If you still need some help, contact me at psiko@tin.it or info@psikobit.it

I think I should have those codecs. But then again, since it's a different PC, maybe not... Thanks for the heads up.
