Dark City, but not Dark City, what is it?

Post by Manymee » 03 Mar 2017 22:44

I played this level years ago, it really is pretty old. It's a city level, and I remember it very grey (the walls) and rather dark (the atmosphere). It was quite a large place to run around in. It is NOT "Dark City"-. Does anyone have an idea which level it could be? I'd really like to replay it. =)

And boo, my last 2 topics dieded when the site got hacked. Now I don't remember what the dude was called with the really hard levelsets. =(

@Manymee
Not sure about the exact level you're asking about, but there is one level that may fit your requirements: Escape From Manosque.

The author who made the difficult levelsets is Taras, btw. :)

Ah, Taras! Thanks, Ryan :)

No, it's not Escape from Manosque. I don't think there was anything oriental in it like palm trees or TR4 textures. I just went and looked if I had by chance reviewed it, but stupidly I never did. It was kind of a generic city, nothing parisian or egyptian or London-ish.
Edit: and it's not Dark Skies 1 either, but I'm gonna go check if there's another Dark Skies level right now!

You know what? There are FIVE Dark Skies levels there, and the images are totally brightened up; I'm gonna download the first one and check it out. Might just be the one I was looking for!

Edit: Nope, that's not it, either. Way too colourful. :(

I would have thought it was Nerkopolis by Nerkan, but you've reviewed that one...

A Cold Wet Day in Paris, maybe...? Fairly generic city atmosphere, rather dark (at least the later portions are).

Could it be Qunai's Eye of the Eve?

Or perhaps San Giorgio by Zack or FZ?

it's not those either :( this is driving me mad! I've manually gone through the whole city section now and can't find it. Is it possible that builders withdraw their levels and not even the info page remains?
Edit: The more I looked, the more the name Holoko rang with me, so I've downloaded his level Twilight City and started playing it now. I'm not sure yet, but it's possible that this is the one, in which case I was totally wrong about it not being an oriental type level. But I have to get to a certain area to know for sure, it's the only area I really remember!

Why not to describe this area to us, so we actually can help :D
Blind guess, Purgatory by Tombcool?

Because it is such a non-descriptive area... a wall, of all things, in a silent city. -.- It's been at least six, rather 8 or ten years since I played it. :(
I finished Twilight City now, and though I enjoyed playing it a lot, it was totally unfamiliar to me.
Purgatory looks, again, way too colourful. I appreciate everyone's help, but it seems that this time, I may just have to give up. :(

This looks also too colourful, sadly. Thanks, though. *sad smiley*
