Greywolf - Natla Technologies Building

Post by mugs » 04 Jan 2017 19:07

I can't get this game to run. I'm using the new_64_tomb4.exe. I get the black screen, but after waiting a full minute no video starts and pressing escape does nothing. I'm running Win. 10. Any suggestions?

tried that too. the black screen is fouling things up. I wonder if a savegame would work - could you post one for me?

I'm not sure if this will solve your problem, Pat, but some customs have the option to disable FMVs in their setup menus, so you may want to disable them to avoid the game hanging. Hope I can help. :) If not, then a save game would be best.

1. Two videos will run on the beginning and on the end of the level; you must wait a while before they start and, when each one ends, to come back the game (you'll se a dark screen), so be patient! If videos don't start or you can't go back the game press "esc" (and wait some seconds: time could be longer than you're expecting).

Mugs, could we investigate some more?
I have the same problem, in my own game, suddenly. I do not know if it started with the latest trng update or for a windows10 update.
Anyhow, if my game has a fmv at the beginning (pre-titles, let's say), I get a black screen, and sometimes I even have to force quitting the game with a reset. I have a solution, but I do not like it that much. I wrote to Paolone about this matter and we couldn't find the reason for this bug.

1st solution: after double click on the exe to run the game, press ctrl, and in the setup window, enable the soft full screen, so that the fmv won't create that black screen.
2nd solution: rename the exe in something random. Seems incredible but it works.. for instance, tomb_4_.exe :)

The first solution (soft full screen) worked perfectly! I saw no reason to try #2 unless you want me to.
