Fixed script files

Post by Treeble » 29 Sep 2008 02:37

So, it's a known fact there are quite a number of custom levels that are provided with 'faulty' script files (ie no load camera set, so whenever you reload a save the game crashes to desktop). I thought it'd be nice if we could sort of ammend this situation by providing working script files.

I'm attaching an edited script file that will work with Cynthia's Temple of Apocalypse. The level is on the wishlist, there are random death situations in it and reloads cause the game to crash.

Hope this topic comes in handy so we can find out other levels that could use some script-tweaking to make the gameplay experience a little more user friendly. I'll post others as I come across them. D: As you can see in posts below, the download files at trle.net are usually fixed with the working script files within a couple of days, but just in case you're just after the script files, you can refer to this list:

- Bianka Droese - Secret of Selket (level ID #525) (thanks eRIC)
- Colin (trlestuff) - Grail (level ID #570)
- Cynthia - Temple of Apocalypse (level ID #1866)
- Dylan Howard - Aldwych Nightmare (level ID #1709)
- Dylan Howard - Water Scroll (level ID #1720)
- Leandro Dubost - Return to Venice (level ID #231)
- Leroy Perkins - Infiltrator (level ID #1791) (thanks Snork)

Thanks Lucas!

And as you post these, I will be more than happy to replace them in the respective download package as well... which I will do right now for Temple of Apocalypse...

Excellent, Michael. :) Meanwhile, I just stumbled across another level myself, and even if I don't believe many other people will play it given its age, I went and built the script. :)

Colin (trlestuff) - Grail (level ID #570)

Also, if anyone else is fed up with random desktop crashes with any given level, feel free to post them here. It probably can be solved. :D

Have just uploaded scripts for two of Dylan Howard's levels. The other two I played worked perfectly with the original scripts so I felt there was no need to make new scripts for them. These two would crash to desktop, however, so here they go: :)

- Dylan Howard - Aldwych Nightmare (level ID #1709)
- Dylan Howard - Water Scroll (level ID #1720)

I have the game installed and it works, but I did not remember any script problems. Maybe because I tried to play it with a Larashome Raiding Party in the first place and thus got fixed scritps to begin with.

So, no idea if these are the ones from Larashome, but they work, no crash with loading or whatever.

I put them here because I can't attach them over in the chat forum.

What about tom-levels that need the UN-revised wads to play them ? It can be a bit difficult to get those if you do not have the trle CD. The XP/Vista edition of trle you can download at tombraiderchronicles is all revised wads.
So is maybe the "ultimate leveleditor" from the levelbase (I forgot).

Would you want .tr4 files to replace the unrevised-wads-tom files ?

For example Rogerio Silva's Dark Fall will crash on startup when compiled with revised wads.

u could download the trle.iso and burn it from http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tr5 ... index.html then u would have the original wads

@eRIC - Thanks - will replace or add these in the download package tonight

@snork - happy to receive a working TR4 version via email from you and will then replace it on the server to avoid these issues :D
