Colin Benson - Temple of Bastet

Post by DoggettTV » 01 Jul 2020 14:54

Hello everyone! I found all the 40 Coins in the First Level!
But I'm missing a Sapphire! I know it's inside behind this raising block, but I can't get down it, did anyone find out? :|

The post below has the locations of all 6 secrets in the first half of the level. (It's about half way though.) You need to throw the wall switches in the numerical order listed.

Edit: I think the one you're looking for is the sixth one.

have only 33 coins and can finish the level
but got 3 secret crystals
how many did you find
and can you go back to previous level if we find more crystals
i think it's a bad behavior not to write how many secrets crystals
and coins there are in a level

edit now i have 4 crystals and 36 coins

Does this image link work for you?

Reach into the switches in numerical order and the block will sink into the ground and you'll have access to a Secret Sapphire.

Edit: You have to do the switches in the order indicated when you first encounter them, going back to them where you are located in the screenshot won't work.

There are six Secret Sapphires in both levels. There are 40 coins in the first part; 30 in the second part.

Stuck in the 2nd level

I started to "touch" some of the rubis in the walls long before reaching the room with the hint , so as i did not take mental notes which ones i already touched and as it's not one_shot action , it was a mess and had to restart that 2nd level from the beginning. :rolleyes2:

Spotted 9 now located here :
SpoilerShow
1 (first one found) in the last room before the outside areas
1 two roms farther , outside
1 in front of the area with the deadly tiles and timed doors, outside
1 after the easiest timed door
1 near by the 2 star puzzle_holes
1 at the entrance of the underground area with the scorpions, after the skeletons and spikes pits
2 in the underground area with the scorpions.
1 in the big room and crawling section just before the room with the hint.
Have 2 Apep carvings.
There are still 2 closed doors outside : one which needs a key and the other one near by before it.
And 2 closed doors down under after the timed doors
(without speaking of the door that will open with 2 more stars).

What should be my next step now ? exploring again and again to find the remaining rubis or did i overlook something else :?

You need to find the remaining rubies. The key to that door is obtained in the area after the rubies. The other door opens when you press all 12 ruby buttons. The Apep carvings are used later in the room opened by the key.

Touching the rubies before you see the wall message in the "crypt key" room is ok. That is what I did, and probably many other players. I don't know if touching the same ruby twice has a negative effect (on/off).

I am not sure exactly which 9 you have from your comments, but perhaps these are the ones you missed:
SpoilerShow
1. One on the right corner pillar in first room with skeletons after the initial 3 floor levers at the start of the level.
2. One on the left wall at the bottom of the stairs after jumping across from the room with those skeletons.
3. One on the wall in the room with the tall pillars and water moat after the underground scorpion area.

If you have those, then you need to keep looking because I didn't write them down, but I made savegames for myself (which would take too long to load to answer your question).

The closed doors after the timed run across the deadly tile floor must be opened immediately after the timed run (to either side) by a fast run down the poles to the doors, or else it is too late; but you do not need to go there. It connects the two timed run areas from below and has a nice goodie.

As for those rubies buttons, it doesn't matter how many times you push them, point is that you get them all. :)

That's right. As long as you press them all, it doesn't matter which order you go with or how many times you touch them.
