I can't even open it - the exe file disappears after I extract the files and Windows Defender keeps banging on about a virus threat.

Same here, HP. Try the Hungarian site. For some reason my computer didn't squawk when I downloaded it from there.

Edit: However, when I tried to start the game, AVG quarantined the Tomb4.exe file and removed it from the download folder. I told them it was fine, and they sent me an automated message assuring me that they would "analyze" it and get back to me.

It's actually happened on a few downloads of late and I thought I had to go through the rigmarole of disabling Windows Defender. It's a shame because it has only happened on a few levels that I had been really desperate to play and not necessarily new releases - I often refresh the TR:LE Homepage to see what gives :-P

I tried again, and this time AVG went through a 15-second scan and allowed the game to load. Hopefully I won't have this problem again.

Phil, can I trouble you for the link to the Hungarian site or indeed the direct link to this level please? I'd like to try it. Here's hoping you enjoy it without any crashes :2thumbsup:

It's on the home page of trle.net, over to the right: TREditor HU

I've discovered that my version of AVG has a "false positive" reporting option, which should solve this problem for good.

I use Avira and when I put a file or folder in its exemptions it stops bothering me. Even if it's not in the exemptions, it always asks what I want to do.
I love when a program lets me decide for myself what risks I am willing to take and doesn't treat me like an idiot.
Give it a try, it is considered to be one of the best free antivirus programs.
