Sorry it is a bug and I did try to fix it but with no success. If you save, and reload it should be ok.

Some buttons will raise/lower blocks in the room above so you can bring up four moveable blocks and place it in the center platform (under the picture with the skull).
The hint to know what buttons you can use is in one of the walls (12 signs).
Start by pressing the buttons in the corners to raise the moveable blocks to a first level and go up to see what you did (and move the blocks onto the next raising blocks).

Once Lara jumps into the water here, she can't surface.
Is it normal?

I have had the same. And my Game crashed to the Desktop as I plundered the second Chest. Use an older Savegame and try to play the whole Sequence in one Go
Resistance is futile

Yes.
It seems there is a bug in that room. My game crashes too.
I've reloaded the game before entering and now I already lowered the bridge.
Thanks. :)

I've placed the first Cistern Key....need to flood the area so I can pull the underwater lever....I have a bag of oil, but when I place it in the nearby receptacle next to the unlit pot, I hear a noise but nothing happens...maybe I need to light the pot first? I can get back to the cupboard in the station and get a torch, and light it, but I can't see a way back to light the pot. What am I missing?

I didn't explain that very well...but since that post, I have done more exploring, and have lowered two blocks in the dry cistern, exposing two underwater levers. Next to the cistern area, there is a generator adjacent to an unlit pot that needs extra oil. In the same area, there are several switches, but they are covered. I have a bag of oil, but nothing happens if I use it next to the unlit pot. I suppose the pot needs to be lit first.
Still stuck, so suggestions are appreciated.

2 cistern keys lower blocks, one is in the water in the lower part of the cistern, underwater lever there will open the first cover on the buttons in the pump room. Those buttons only work if the Pump is active...
What I don't understand is why putting the oil in the bowl (you have to put it in the bowl) next to the Pump didn't work for you. Are you sure you put it IN the bowl? The oil will ignite by itself, no need for a torch there.

This is weird (could only happen to me)....earlier, in the room with the 2 lit pots and many wall torches, when I placed the oil in the already-lit pots to increase the flame, I stood exactly in front of the RED ARROW next to the pots, and it worked...the flame got bigger. I did the same thing here next to the generator and got the sound of the generator, but no motion and no water in the lower level of the cistern. After I read your post, I stood in front of the pot and it lit just as you said it would. The lower level of the cistern has water, I pulled the first underwater lever and now the cover over the first switch is open.
I understood the red arrow (which was pointing at the ground) to mean "put the oil RIGHT HERE"....otherwise I would have put it in the pot.

Anyway...on my way again. Thanks to all for your replies.

How do I leave the room with the 4 water columns? I have all cog wheels but the grate is closed and I can't see anything. Thanks.
