I'm at this spot now and, try as I may, I can't seem to press the middle button and get to the ladder fast enough to avoid burning to death. Any tips or do I just need to keep on trying (and frying)?

You'll need to press all three buttons.
When you get a camera shot of a rolling ball falling, quickly press the "look" key to restore the camera and press the corresponding button with the same colour.

:widemouth: OMG, I don't think I'm ever going to be fast enough - I'm only just managing the first button before she fries.

OK, I shall keep trying (or throw myself on the tender mercies of Smartarse who is a much faster raider than I am). Thanks, Jose.

Edit: Yes, well it does help if you do the buttons in the correct order. :hammer: I'm not normally colour blind. Sigh.

Press the right button, sideflip to the left one and you'll have enough time to press the button in the middle.....

I'm on the upper floor of the lava room now in the same area (have already two swords).
I couldn't find any hint for the save tiles. What's the trick?
Thanks in advance

Okay I'm getting frustrated with this, the first level in an eagerly anticipated BTB2016.
The level crashes on trying to use a water-level changing switch for a second time (both the one after the mirror room, and the one above the block puzzle room). This is going to get this level a very low score unless someone can provide a reliable fix.
I followed the read me and didn't move the mirror after opening the door. Switching the resolution didn't fix the crashes. Vimmers's savegame on page 1 got me past the mirror room switch, unfortunately I can't use the switch above the block puzzle a second time without being dumped to the desktop. So I'm stuck. :hammer:

Any help before this level gets dumped itself?

Only advice I can give you is to download the level again.
Sorry to say but at my end it is working OK. Saves still might work.
Oops, I did it again... Image

Thanks for replying Gerty :)
However re-downloading didn't work.
I will try replaying from the start and also using Windowed instead of full screen and then I'll give up.
A pity the beta-testers didn't find this issue.

Edit: Changing to Windowed mode didn't make a difference, but...
...replaying from the start did!
So we continue and hope no more crashes!

Sorry, Ambonsall, I was one of the testers, but when I realize this issue the level was just sent for competition.
I apologize, but since the end of february I have been very busy (every day I go out very early in the morning and I go back late in the evening, so now I can't spend many times with levels :( ).
I noticed that you shouldn't save when Lara is in the empty cave or when she's near the valve switches and she must fill the cave again.
If you still have issues with any crash I kept some savegames to bypass the troubles:

Thanks Greywolf. I think you could be right about saving being the problem...I saved both near the valves and in the empty cave.
I did not mean to criticise you  ...I know some of these crashes can be system-dependent so an issue might be missed if the test computers were set up differently to mine.

Thankfully I'm past that point now and enjoying the search for the 4 scimitars.

:2thumbsup:

Of course my saves are for anyone else that could have issues in the caves.
I know how it's stressful when any player can't go on with a game because some crashes occour.

On the upper floor there are two carpets with several décor objects, the torch (it has a very peculiar shape this time around) is among them. One in each carpet should you need a second one.

I can't figure out the safe spots in the fire room. I thought they would be the rocks below :? I thought I had to go here to light the torch.
