Arrived in the "village" made my way onto that block with the skeleton and got Tower Key I... What's next, can't find anything to do (nor see) in this darkness. Is there something I can open with the crowbar?

I assume you DID use the crowbar already. You will again but not now.
Anyway, it's time for one of those pull up on a ledge -> backflip moves...

Used the crowbar in the first part, before the Hotdog run. Well, you made it really clear what I have to do now, after getting the first Tower Key.... thanks... :?

Made some progress after watching that annoying video walk...Problem is that I cannot see ledges or openings like that...This is how it looks like for me with the monitor on 100%

That's when I sleep :D
Opened it on another PC, world of difference, I can actually see where I have to go...

Manarch2, where are you....

Edit: Never mind, I just now remembered his crash issues.

What a combination: A level so dark you can't see, and it crashes on top of that.

Can I get rid of those Wraiths (after Church Key) somewhere?

They are meant to disappear after you solve this area.
Shouldn't take long provided you open the right coffin.

I never experienced a single crash in this level - where did it happen to you?

Yup. They're meant to vanish (and also the deadly skeleton blocking your path) in the small room where you can place the Bonedust which is in one of the coffins (the closest to the skeleton if I recall).

Well that's great fun, running from at least 7 enemies that will almost immediately kill you and go use key to open a door. As soon as you are using the key they all jump you and your a goner...Any tips other than running around first, then pump the 3 medipacks I have left. I still burn and die

What I did is waited in the tower corridor until they went away a bit further.
Then I hit sprint and planted the key. Watch out for another dog behind the door.

I simply needed tons of attempts for this part, since I rather ran like if no tomorrow. :D I played that part completely recklessly and worst for me was the final wolf that is waiting for you to prevent you from touching the end trigger.

While placing the key, only the fire wraiths annoyed me - skeletons weren't able to step on this higher tile as well as the wolves, but this part is terribly hellish.

You can get rid of the fire wraiths in that little pool on the other side of the tower.
You do this by jumping off the higher block so the wraith slams into the water from above.

all both skeletons and wolves stepped on the keyhole tile when i played
also needed 10/15 attempts to succeed
