Yeah I did that towards that trapdoor...what am I not getting? There's still that gap in the MS that needs to be closed and I have no clue where to go. The switch on the dune only opens another gate below.

Perhaps you missed one jump switch. There are three in this room (one of which I didn't see for a VERY long time), two on ladders and one on just a regular pillar.

Now I'm in a pickle again. I've used three stars and found the stones of Osiris, Sobek and Nebu, and I don't have the fourth stone. I never actually managed to find the red thingy I should place on the big pyramid in the earlier area with the big scorpios. I thought I'd find it eventually but now it looks like I needed that to find the fourth key.

No, you need the fourth star. 1 star => 1 stone, just like that.
Possibly look in the sandy canyon before the main temple.

DJ Full, that's not very helpful. I do need the fourth star because one gate is still closed in that area but I've been everywhere high and low and I have no clue where it could be. I'm afraid I will need the exact location of this star.

This should be either under the block near the pyramid, or up at the waterfalls.

I think Agent XP gave a hint about this because actually there is mention of the same star earlier in this thread, he said there's something red above a waterfall and I have seen some red light but man, there's no way to get there. Maybe someone can walk me through it. I picked one star up at another waterfall (with the falling ball and blades) but this place is different and I see no access point.

looking at the red there are some slightly diagonally blocks in front of the 2 entrances to
the big area use those to get higher

Me again (soon I will be just me talking with myself in this thread). When I use the beetle, it activates the spikes but Lara also catches fire. It is supposed to happen? I tried running to different places but it's always the same story. Someone mentioned ealier Lara caught fire after pulling a lever. Is this a bug? I'm playing the standard HD outfit option which people said didn't cause any problems.

Sounds like a script bug - might not occur if you do this part earlier or later.
There are two tiles to activate the beetle, which one are you at?
I played both classic and HD outfit and never had this issue.
