DNF Production-The Training (Revised)-Journey to the Past

Post by Jorge22 » 29 Apr 2016 23:59

So, I'm at the place with the ropes and the pesky-deadly mice. According to the old walkie, which I had to check, Lara could cross the room using the ropes and then get down and the mice might not show up. But the fact is I have some blocks to pull/push below and the mice are chasing Lara right from the very start and they even get up to the other side of the room if she crosses by rope swinging. And I only have one small and one large medipack. The b*******!

In despair I tried to use the all ammo & medipacks cheat but it doesn't seem to work.

Then, DJ told me to try and find a different way to get rid of the little plagues. I ran over the grates, shot at the mice, crouched over the grates, tried to shot a closed opening on the wall (I guess that must be where they came from), I don't know.

So, what's the well kept secret that gets one rid of the mice?

Thanks indeed. :)

EDIT: It's been answered on the Dig Site thread.

While I did eventually have to deal with the rats, I just did the block pushing before I did any exploring around that pit. They didn't activate until I got close to those grates.

The well kept secret is: 1) push the block inside
2) shoot the other blocks which look like pushblocks but are in fact shatters
3) the beetle solution is behind.

Yes, the beetle solution is not to trigger them. Oh yeah. Didn't think that was possible but it is and I only had to go back a little. Thanks a bunch. Level done! :2thumbsup:

Don't go through the pit, but use the ropes to get across and drop down there, the rats activate in the other pert of the pit, somewhere near the first rope. So you can do the whole block puzzle without rats. Then they will only show up when you get out of there later (Clearly explained in the walk you should not walk through that pit)

Yes, but I only kind of read the walkie after I found myself dealing with the mice. Since I normally have several saves (that was my latest one) I guess I'd already been down to the pit and up again but it gets hard to recall what you actually did in a certain save.

So, finally I just went to a previous save and did the rope thing without getting down to the pit, of course.

But if you don't look at the walkie, with the hidden push block below and the mice and all that, it isn't exactly crystal clear. I remember playing it before but that was ages ago.

That's why you should always read the walk first

Right. But you do know that having to read a walkthrough takes away a large part of the fun... 8)

The walkie say's after killing the first scorpion, go back around the corner left and get SG ammo, then return to the hall and go east to find a skelly with the shot gun. I can not find the skelly with the shot gun. Please look at my save and put me in the right direction :(

Standing in front of the skeleton (shotgun still needs to be picked up, but I’ve killed the scorpion).

Where are all these The Training (Revised) levels hiding as I cannot find this one or any of the other "Dark Sewers" mentioned in this "Stuck in a Custom Level" area? And are there more?

Thanks for the links.
I use the list area where you can search by author, nickname, title etc and I just used the word "training" That did not find it. Using the word "sewer" also did not find it.
I see looking through this area that there were a lot of these DNF Production -The Training threads and presumably levels.
Just looking at the link you give I see all the threads in this area are levels of Episode Zero. That would explain the keywords not locating them. Nor did I realise that DNF Production was a nickname or I would have tried that search.
