Osvaldo - Egyptian Valley - 1 The Valley

Post by JesseG » 22 Dec 2014 02:08

Greetings, I have come back from a long break from trle. I decided to look at this release and see why there were no reviews for it yet, and no mention of it in the forums (as far as I can tell). I have discovered that it could be because...the game cannot be finished!

But I am not yet 100% sure of this. Here is the logic I'm using to form this theory (I used fexInspect to gather this info):
  • This is clearly set up as a multi-level series. There are two jumps out of the starting level: One is a completely independent, unreachable area that seems to start a credit roll. The other is behind a set of doors unlocked by that golden Egyptian tablet that comes in two pieces (the name eludes me right now).
  • One of the gold tablet pieces is at the top floor of a tower. This top floor can only be accessed after a trapdoor is opened. The trapdoor requires four stars to be placed. (Note: there is also a crawlspace "window" to this floor, but so far I have found it to be inaccessible).
  • The starting level only has two stars. Therefore it seems to be that the player must at some point leave the level in order to get all 4 stars.
  • This creates a catch 22 scenario: All 4 stars are needed to complete the tablet, but the tablet is required to leave the level in order to pursue some of the stars.
Has anyone found something to the contrary? It has been a long time since I have been raiding, so I wanted to post here first before leaving a review, and potentially making a fool of myself. Note that I haven't inspected the other levels yet and I have only been playing for around an hour or so - I got the star in a building in the maze area.

Any tips on the 3 levers (one crowbar lever). No camera's, so no idea what I'm doing...

Will give it a go, they should operate 4 doors however....#4 is the door to a secret in the labyrinth

I'm not sure, where you are. But in the first Level you got the second Half of the Cartouche after you kill many Dudes. They come one after another and the last one lost the second Half of the Cartouche

Well I figured out why fexinspect threw me off track - there's two different kinds of star items. D'oh! That's what I get for being a cheat. :hammer:

vimmers had it right with those three levers - I found the right combination to get a third star, so I'm on my way again. :D

EDIT; Wow, it wasn't one of the dudes in the labyrinth section, but one way back in the valley where the jeep is... I killed those guys way back and now that Cartouche is nowhere to be found...

Finally got it, first time I just went looking for that second part and went back to the start so I didn't see all those enemies. You just have to keep running around near the jeep and about 20 of them in different colors come for you one by one, the last black one has the second part... On my way again, thanks :2thumbsup:

I disagree vimm...
I think you are actually at the timed swim... one opening is wider then the other two? Then you have a timed swim to that gate at hand. Not too bad and you can choose of two routes from the hole with the lever...
It's the way to the flood lever...
