I'm lost. Is there a walkthrough for this level ? I need the wind-up beetle and I can see a bunch of 3 wall things that look like switches, but are too high. Need some direction in this game please. NVM - found the climbable wall.

How did you reach this area? I used an UW lever that opens a timed door but I cannot find it. Already have both parts of the mechanical beetle.

the timed door is in the pic at the top of this page. it contains a secret only. the climbable wall is in the same room as the pool with the uw lever.

what i can see with a stop watch you got around 30 seconds
but my door are closed every time i reach there

I have the same problem Vimmers did in trying to make the first secret run from the underwater lever. I followed the method used by Scottie and made the run in the same time, but the door was always closed. I suspect this may be an undocumented secret bug caused by unknown events. I can use Scottie's savegame that was made for Vimmers to proceed from this point, but I would rather have liked to have done it myself.

I noticed that the walkthrough at this point is somewhat wrong or the game executable I have is different than the one used by Dutchy. Before the secret run, the walkthrough says to go to a gold gate in the NW and go to the left to use a lever to open a door near the start of the level. However, there is no gold gate in the NW of the main room area except the red crystal room gate, and that lever has already been used. Also, when that lever was used the walkthrough says that a second demigod is waiting at the gate it opens. There is no second demigod. I have reloaded many times.

In addition the crocodile followed Lara to the mechanical scarab and could easily be killed by pistols. Maybe this is another indication of something amiss.

Also note that in the previous level Amanda could be killed simply by pistols with no ammo loss and virtually no health loss if Lara moved about halfway on the bridge from the drop towards Amanda who will shoot her blue bolts over Lara's head while Lara hits Amanda (I could replicate this several times from an earlier save). And in London's Buildings the guard in the sentry gun room was often facing Lara when the block was moved from the corridor before Lara ever entered the room, or if she went for the secret first. A reload of a save after shooting the thug in the previous room and doing the secret after pushing the button in the sentry gun room worked better (then the guard faced the back wall). Of course Lara had to be careful moving the box to the floor tile for the secret after doing the sentry gun room because the guard might come out with the alarm sounding. Could these things also be signs of possible differences in the excecutables or a long-lasting secret bug or such?

İf you see the door open up when you pull that UW lever, it is open. Maybe you are just too late, because the run is very tight and the door closes in a milisecond. Can't look into your other question about the gate now (not at home)..
