Thanks, I needed to know that that jump was possible, it seemed I was barking up the wrong tree!

manage Lara to get to a triangle ledge & use circle-run + curve jump to grab the crack pillar near you across the pit.
My heart for Lara is always young!

Completely stuck on the jumping across the coloured tiles to get to the pull switch above water at the end - the second tilejump I cannot do at all. Tried all I can think of, curving, hopping, standing ... she cannot reach the other tile without the door at the end closing?

What's the secret to doing this jump?

Not a very helpful answer, Vimmers, as the walkie does not specify the precise method for this jump.

DavidJHowe - You can try a curved running jump, which should work; but the easiest method (for me, at least) is the short running jump: Walk one step, press jump in the middle of the step and then let go of shift, so that Lara takes off for the jump one step before she would normally do for a running jump. Hope that helps. :)

Thanks so much Myrtly ... in all my years of playing TR I didn't know that sort of jump existed :D
I have now managed to get to the next tile!

Thanks also Vimmers ... I do have the walkthrough ... I was just totally stuck on how to make that jump.

Onwards and upwards :)

Yeah, there are a lot of moves possible in the Classic TR engine that are never needed in the official games, but often come up in custom levels. The short running jump is one of the most useful ones. :D (The super-rope swing is another - also used in this level, and described by DJ Full in the walkthrough. :) )

OK ... I'm stuck now. It's the jumpswitch which opens a timed door down the corridor ... it's timed so close that I've been trying this over and over but I cannot get Lara through the door :( Can some kind person help please? Savegame attached ...

I can't swerve into the closing door ... so I expect that the trick is exact to the mm positioning and timing, and I can't seem to hit them :(

Here you go. :) The timed run isn't that hard - it just requires a bit of strategy, and you can't waste any time getting out of the water.

THANK YOU!!!!

I tried to be as quick as I could getting out the water, but this also seemed to be a fractional thing. Too far one direction and she pushes back from the edge and wastes time; the other direction and you have to swim forward one stroke before she will lift out ...

But now I'm off and away again ... at least once I get the tricky rope swing sorted :)

OK ... stuck on the next bit now ... this game is proving to be something of a tricky beast!

It's when you've placed the two Urns in the two statues either side of the water in the main room, a tunnel opens and you drop down there ... then through the maze and stuff (killing the Osiron and the Phoenix) and find a pull block. With this you can get into a passage which is all slopes and firey floors.

I've managed to slide jump, slide jump grab ... shimmy round, jump off the wall ladder to a slope and jump/grab to another ladder ... but the next bit is a slide and jump to catch the ceiling, and then a passage to hang/hand walk along, avoiding the flame burners underneath.

Problem is that I cannot get past the burners. The timing is too tight on them and poor Lara burns every time - doesn't help that on this movement you can't see the floor so can't see how close you are to the burners as you handswing down the corridor.

Savegame is attached (which has to start from the start of the whole sequence as there's no interim point to save unfortunately).

Anyone able to do this little bit more easily than I?

Here you go. I have attached two files: one is with Lara safely at the end of the flame traps corridor (but missing a secret) and the other is Lara in the secret alcove in that corridor. You can continue with either. :)

For future reference: it is possible to save while hanging (or in any other precarious position) - just press F5 with Ctrl held down, release Ctrl for a second when the save list comes up, then press Ctrl instead of Enter and hold it ... and voila! you have saved while hanging. Of course, if you reload this save, you need to hold down Ctrl, or else Lara will fall to her doom.
