I had the same problem and couldn't work out what the lever was for. You should have the 2 oak rods anyway so you can continue (maybe it's a secret)
I had it too. It's a minor bug. The painting, I guess, is supposed to be 'closed'. You do the puzzle and then open the painting when you flip the switch, to then go and get the rod. But for some it seems the painting is open when you first come to it.

Still, it doesn't stop enjoyment of what is a good level.

Ah now I understand, so technically you don't even need to do the last bit in that area. Oh well, doesn't matter I guess. :)

Yes, the lever was indeed meant to open up the painting, and it did on my and my beta testers playthrough. Out of interest, did anyone not experience this bug, i.e., the painting did open up due to the lever?

tweetygwee:
The level worked perfectly both times I played it. The painting is always closed when Lara lights the two bowls. Then do tightrope walk, get to the floor lever and throw it. Then the painting opens up and Lara can get the oak rod.

Thanks for the info. I suppose it might be something to do with flipmaps, or the order in which you do things in the level. Anyway it doesn't bother me too much. :)

At the part where you have an underwater lever and the door comes down pull the lever again and another door comes down blocking the flames, what are you supposed to do!!

I only pulled it once.

Did you step on the raised tile?
And shoot the balls?

The tile is raised, not the balls.....for you to step on and see another area - it's only a step up floor tile.

The shootables are behind the fires.

Maybe you are not where I think you are.

I used two keys and am in the area with the sundial and got one oak rod from open gate above. I read there are two, are they both in this area??? If so where is the other one? I have been ffrom top to bottom.

Ok got both :) It happened to me also with the picture, it was open when I entered, got the rod, then did the lever to close the pic. Who cares! Excellent Levels!!!! Thank you soooo much :2thumbsup:

I have got 4 keys, but now I am stuck here.
Pulled the underwater lever which opens a door
Shoot the 3 balls behind the fires, but the fourth door is always closed and I do not find any other lever.
How to open it?
