AngelR - Courel's Sands

Post by Tim » 29 Aug 2008 18:15

Having a problem building this one.

I built it manually using a fresh TRLE root folder and copied all the files over. It opened fine but when I tried to save the game, it locked in the SG screen.

I thought it might require a Save folder so I created one. When I restarted, the SG was on the screen and loaded okay. I tried to save again in a different slot and it froze again in the SG screen.

I checked the root folder and both SGs were there but not in the Save folder so I'm guessing that's not the solution.

I downloaded the level again in case it was corrupted but got the same result.

Never encountered this one before ....... any suggestions !!

Runs fine on my end (imagine that)

Stuck though, did the breakable tiles to the top to pull the lever, but no way to get down except to die :? Too high up

Well there is no way to go on as you have to pull that lever to open a gate, but no way back down.

binned

I am sorry to say but you are wrong. There is a way down from the lever. It leads over breakable tiles and then Lara will drop onto the walkway. Look at attached screenshots and you will know what I mean.

Yes, but if the player -in the emercency of the situation- breaks one more tile than necessary, he/she can indeed be stuck for good up there.

That's what happened to me also the first time. The builder has made the way_in and the way_out too near from each other. And had to reload a previous savegame.

But this is no emergency situation. You can grab the edge of the breakable tiles and save your game before you pull up onto the tile. And you can use binoculars to find out which tiles lead to the switch and which tiles lead to the next area. Therefore there is no timed action or other things that put the player in an stressful situation. And the most important rule for a player:

Save early, save often and when you are not sure what to do copy your savegames into an extra folder with a suitable name.

Yep you are right of course,
but i like doing my courses on breakable tiles in 1 go , without grabbing anything :D that's one of the greatest amusement in TR when it is possible, and here it was...
