TC14 - QoG Gold - The Ship Graveyard

Post by avmaster » 28 Jul 2008 09:41

I start this topic because laranur asked for help before the stuck threads disappeared. laranur attached a savegame at trle.net and asked for help or if someone could do the jump. The attached screens show how to do this jump to the monkeyswing on the ceiling.

So here is the savegame where Lara is hanging on the ceiling and the screenshot where Lara is hanging on the ceiling. Hold Action when you load it or Lara will drop into the water.

Sorry, not at home right now...

The sea objects aren't done by me, but by Trix, she deserves all credit for them. :)

It's up above, but I just remembered, I think you had trouble with my SG's in the past for this game - I wonder what the problem is...

I DL'd the SG above mine, by avmaster and it worked fine. It's after the door, but he hasn't tripped the lever by the ship, which I have done. Maybe I'll DL his SG, and do the lever again...

avmaster - could you do the timed swim for me ??? I could use the SG you have posted above, but your inventory is different. I think it's better, in fact - I'll just take up from there...

BTW - avmaster - you missed a secret, on top of the submerged yellow thing at the start...

Thanks !!!

Well, now I'm having a hard time with this one... can somebody get me to the blue ledge ???

@ JunoJim:

I didn't miss the secret you mentioned, I found it later in the level. Look at my stats in the trophy thread, it shows you that I didn't miss any secret.

I've done the timerun(savegame.13) for you but during the week I had no sparetime to help players. Today is official holiday here so no work today.

I've done the jump(savegame.11) for you but I am not sure where you want to go. I think you should use the two bars to swing over to the slopes and jump to the block and from the block to the JS.

avmaster - how did you curve enough to make that slope ???

I was getting within 1/2 a square, (1/4 Lara block ???) but couldn't get closer... I was starting in the center, slight left, then hard left...

Hope you have a good holiday. I was in Munich a long time ago for Octoberfest - what a blast !!!

vimmer - I didn't know you had Vista - how do you like it ??? I think it's the way the game is structured, but I'm no expert...

Thanks to both of you - the community spirit of this forum is tremendous !!!

I'm up to walk the dog - going back nitey now - too early...

First step:

Grab the bar where you see Lara on the screenshot(bar.jpg):

Second step:

Let her swing a few times and then let her jump towards the slope and hold down "left arrow" on the keyboard. She will land where you see her sliding down backwards(also backward.jpg).

Third step:

Slide down the slope(backward.jpg) and before Lara drops into the deadly water turn around and hold "right arrow" on the keyboard(turn around.jpg).

Fourth step:

Then jump between the slopes until she is able to jump onto the safe block. That's a normal method which has been used very often in levels, nothing special.

Thanks avmaster - I see on "backward" you are already farther to the left than I was making, and in "turnaround", you just barely make the edge, so I was getting pretty close... how do I get Lara to hang on for more than one spin around the pole ???

Thanks to Trix !!! I love your underwater creations !!! The whole scene is a wonderful diving adventure.

(Off Topic) :D For those divers out there, I accidentally kicked a black sea urchin once - lucky 13 spines in my foot. Took the locals suggestion, and massaged the whole area to break them up (using Tequila for anesthetic), and the next day the hangover was worse than the spines, which dissolved. The usual approach is to have them removed surgically, which puts you on crutches for a week...

Hold "Action" and "Up arrow" on your keyboard and she will spin around until you release both or one of the keys.
