Max - Above the Horizon - Prologue

Post by Theda » 09 Apr 2019 21:08

So I just downloaded this demo and am already super impressed with the graphics.

I would love to play it but as soon as I try to save the game it crashes. I managed one save but it also crashes when I tried to load it. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thank you!

I did rename the pix folder but my game freezes when Lara is in the dark tunnels and after the ceiling fell down, the game comes to a grinding halt (freezes) and I have to leave by using Ctrl - Alt - DEL.
Oops, I did it again... Image

Withdraw, fix while beta-testing, and re-release when play-worthy.

Edit: The reviews mention no such problems, so I spoke too soon.

After jumping on the other side you continued to the right but before reaching the end there is fire, my problem is that I do not see what to do or how to continue, any hint?

* Never mind, recharge a previous save and I could continue. The demo is finished once out and sliding? Great demo!!

This actually seems to work.

It's a time run. You need to reload an earlier save and try again.

Just to mention my game froze after Lara crawled through a small duct and arrived in a new room. I mean, froze as in I couldn't move her anymore. Other than that, the game looks really cool.

Any solutions for the freezing issues at this moment (I already renamed the pix folder to pix2)?

Hmm... I don't know if that's it but damn FLEP. I mean, every protection I have, starting with Microsoft's own protection, won't accept it. I'm really not willing to disconnect it all, so I guess it's a problem.
Shame since the game looks great.

I mean, I did replace the exe. But if there's any way, I'd really like to know.

Jorge22, I had the same problem, so I had to add the .exe file to the list of safe applications in my antivirus program. The AV program (Avast in my case) deletes or disables the .exe file after a false virus alert.

The other option is to disable the AV temporarily, to prevent it from deleting the applications already downloaded to your hard drive.

i know this is off topic
but every antivirus ceo , programmer ETC
will say it's overkill to more then one antivirus program installed

And they're right.

Defender's the one that I hope is protecting the PC.
Avast's shields are off but I can still scan the computer when I want to. Same thing more or less with Malwarebytes (but it isn't really an antivirus). Both Panda Cloud Cleaner (very thorough cloud-based antivirus) and Kaspersky's tdsskiller (aimed at rootkits) are designed to run only on demand.

I agree.

I have the black screen when loading a save, saving a save, or looking at the notebook. Any fix for this?
