The ‘Guards Keys’

Thanks for the hint, Justin—I’ve downloaded Emoo’s level, and after a bit of testing it seems that the solution is in fact rather simple.
The key that works on a number of doors in Emoo’s level is not the Guards Key from the joby1a etc. levels, but like it has been designated as KEY_ITEM12, which...

The ‘Guards Keys’

Well, thank you both for your moral support. Still, I’m hoping for a more...applicable sort of answer. ;)
It might be helpful if you could name one of these levels, Michael.

The ‘Guards Keys’

At some point in “The Sphinx Complex”, you acquire a bundle of ‘Guards Keys’ which you can use on various keylocks in the same and also in later levels of TRLR.
I have put this item into my wad and copied the appropriate line from the TRLR script into my own, but unfortunately the item disappears ...

How do I get TR1 objects into TRLE ?????

I have extracted a number of static objects from TR1 wads myself some time ago. I used TR2WAD, and the objects were not flawed as far as collision detection or textures are concerned. (I'm not sure how the programme would handle animated objects, though.) If the new version has no TR1 support, try a...

Problems with FE3

Well, it’s news to me that there is such a thing as a specific OCB setting that makes the flame track Lara...maybe that was a bug after all...which disappeared after a while?

New stuff for trle - Help!

Well...not exactly a briefcase...but there is a similar thing in the Great Wall wad (TR2)...it’s a small suitcase with a laptop inside, and it’s open. I don’t remember more of such objects right now, but retexturing an object of suitable size and shape shouldn’t be a great deal really.

breakable windows (yet again)

E-mail:
wurstsalon@gmx.de
Perhaps we could continue the discussion on hardware specifics via e-mail and in German, as this is a subject I can by no means consider myself an expert in. :\

breakable windows (yet again)

Oops, I should have had a closer look at your message...That the first installment of your series doesn’t have your windows in it was of course clear to me when I saw that it uses an unmodified wad. I played it anyway, though, and didn’t regret it. (I might write a review, but I don’t think that I h...

breakable windows (yet again)

Well...the problem is that I can’t use STRPIX because it won’t run on my system. Therefore, as far as modified objects are concerned, I’m unfortunately forced to rely on ripping the things I need parasitically from other people's wads...and as I haven’t played your level yet, JJS—I will do so now an...

breakable windows (yet again)

Breakable windows: what’s the state of the art? I downloaded WebKnight’s ‘fenster wad’ as soon as it was available (a few months ago), and I remember that he made a few remarks as to difficulties with applying the appropriate textures to the objects contained therein (at the moment, they are merely ...

Assigning sounds to objects.

Blimey, JJS—thanks a lot for this really quite extensive answer indeed. Seems as though I needed to do a little bit of experimentation though before I can provide a response that can equal yours in any way...

Assigning sounds to objects.

Hello again, and thank you for your warm welcome. I can take a bit of imbecility but not when they make a business out of it. :)
As for my reviews, well, I’ll try and keep ’em comin’. Another one is on its way.
I’m waiting patiently for your results, WebKnight and JJS. It seems that there are t...

Assigning sounds to objects.

[Hello, this is my first post on this forum. Now that the Eidos forum has been taken over by newbies, and the German Eidos forum largely by imbeciles, I’m tracking down the pros in the recesses to which have retired. — Now on topic:]
Ever since I first had the idea of having the SAS guards shout ‘...
