You don't need to use a variable for that. Just use FGT_DISABLED constant on your Globaltrigger line. If I understand well,

you have to place the center of rotation at the central position in Metasequoïa (0,0,0).
No matter if you move your object in WM, the rotation is always relative to the origin coordinates of the mesh.

Well, after thinking a bit, may be some screen captures organized in chapters, and that you can see and scroll inside the program itself, may help more than a video in which you have to pause often to understand what to do.

BTW, it's alpha-testing time for the new version of SFX Manager :)

I'm working on a new version that should be easier to use. Well, I hope so ;)

I'll try to make some tutorials on how to add/remove/modify sounds with SFX Manager. I tryed to make online help but I'm sure that videos should be better for eveyone ;)

You can change the Lara_Pickup line with SFX Manager (sound #62). Just go to the parameters and check the option that authorizes you to modify "empty" and "unsure" lines.

There's no conditional trigger but you can use Trigger Action #54 and Flipeffect #256 to select and copy Lara's orientation to a specified variable. Did you try with TriggerGroup(TG) /Organizer ?
If you plan to place several flipeffect(FE)/action(AT) triggers on the same square in ngle, you may encounter weird bugs.
Each time I have more than one FE/AT, I use a TG.

lure the skeletons to the back of the room and wait for them. Then run to the jump switch. You'll have enough time to use it this way ;)
