Re: Any ideas on how I make baddy1 stick to his uzi?

The code that sets up BADDY_1 and BADDY_2 is the same. It just tests for which one it is. The code is below in Assembly language with memory offsets. If you can convert the memory offset to a file position you can work on a patch. 0x0040b2f0 mov edx , dword ptr [ esp + 4 ] 0x0040b2f4 push ebx 0x0040...

Re: transition textures

Go to http://www.cgtextures.com/
Under tutorials, look for the one called
Advanced blending in Paint Shop Pro using 'Blend Ranges'

While this example uses PSP, it demonstrates how to use layers to blend 2 textures. There should be something similar in GIMP.

Re: TRNG / NGLE discussion thread

Run the setup first. If there isn't a shortcut for the setup, you can create one. Create a shortcut for the tomb4.exe. Right click the shortcut and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, where it shows the Target, at the end of the text add a space then the text /setup Click OK. Run the shortcut an...

Re: "Tomb Raider - Level Editor" folder overwritten??

Obviously I meant the average user can't find them. The evidence is the number of times this issue arises. Newer versions of Windows create folders based on your login, application name, and other things. Nice long, cryptic names that make it hard to figure out what went where. And Compatibility Fil...

Re: What happened to my objects?

I couldn't understand why there was a problem so I looked at the projects that come with TRLE. It appears that they have the path to the TGA file and WAD file hard coded to look in Program Files. The only problem with installing there under Vista and Windows 7 is that you will have permission proble...

Re: "Tomb Raider - Level Editor" folder overwritten??

On Vista and Windows 7 the files will not automatically go where you think they go. They are saved in some sort of secret folder under your user login. So you can save the files but not be able to find them again. If you install TRLE in your Documents folder, the files will save in the normal place....

Re: What happened to my objects?

Sorry, scratch all that. I keep forgetting there is a patch for TRLE. It is a multipatch for all early TR games plus the TRLE.

http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/vista/patch.html

Download and run the patch. That should fix things without requiring compatibility mode.

Re: What happened to my objects?

1) Uninstall the level editor.
2) Install the level editor in your Documents folder.

If it still doesn't work, run it in compatibility mode (Win98 or WinXP).
But definitely reinstall, it will prevent other problems in the future.

Re: one block platform problem

Try putting it in the lower room. With all the code bits on, it should start in the UP position. I believe you can set the timer value to determine how high the platform goes in clicks, so it will reach the upper room. Trigger on the same square as the platform should cause it to lower. Antitrigger ...

Re: PRJ not loading

You can't just copy the files over. You have to do an actual install. It shouldn't have anything to do with the file size. If you could save the file, you can load it back. Depending on how you copied the files across, you might want to make sure they aren't read-only. You can also try running winro...

Re: PRJ not loading

It probably has to do with Windows 7 security features.
The best solution is to install TRLE in your Documents folder.
