Re: LB Advent Calendar 2018 - tombraiderxii - Croftmas Manor

You gotta be kidding. No, I really hope you didn't mean it seriously. Didn't you notice [...] Whoa, hold your horses, Jim-Bob! Didn’t you notice I haven’t actually reviewed the level in question, nor uttered a single peep about it (or any other level, for that matter)? I haven’t even played it. I w...

I could be wrong obviously.
Well, you’ve been many things over the years. ‘Wrong’ is not necessarily the first that springs to mind.

Re: LB Advent Calendar 2018 - tombraiderxii - Croftmas Manor

There may have been harder sequences in original TR, but my understanding is that Christmas levels are expected to be on the softer side; and are also rated higher by default. It’s that ‘Christmas spirit’ thing. I don’t get it either.

Re: Reviews and level concept

Err...Christmas?

(Just an educated guess, mind. I understand that in many countries the law requires that on or around Christmas you meet up with people who you know but try to avoid the rest of the year.)

Re: Pending Walkthrough Projects, thread #4

Yes, Pedro. You do you.
And in the event that your efforts will be rejected or ignored (however unlikely this scenario may seem), just remember that that would only be proof positive that you’re a genius. (Like any were needed, ha, ha, ha. Ha.)

Re: My TRLE is tiny :(

O my, this is embarrassing! I totally forgot that, yes, the LE interface doesn’t actually get bigger in NGLE—I suppose I’ve become so used to it now, even though I used to be just as irritated with it as you are. I’m sorry for the mistake. Still, NGLE resolves the other issues of the o...

Re: My TRLE is tiny :(

It’s 1024 x 768 actually, which is its maximum size and meant full screen on pretty much any PC monitor back in the day; you can’t trick it into being any larger (Alt + Enter only draws a black frame around it). It’s one of the reason why a new editor was developed (the NGLE). You should probably gi...

Re: Walkthrough Small Talk, thread #2

Of course! I should have devined that one by myself. (But I was suspecting a Google Translator artefact.) Oh, and Lara in a Box , while possibly checking all the boxes (‘reasonable competence’ being not very much in evidence), is of course reserved for a round jubilee, as discussed elsewhere. (Does ...

All three conditions are required to be met, I’m afraid. :)

Incidentally, what’s a “purley switch” (that doesn’t work)?

Re: Walkthrough Small Talk, thread #2

Having noticed that my dear friend M. Nicolas Lepy very recently dumped another one on us, I had a peek in this here walkthrough forum in order to check whether a walkthrough was already in the works, and of course it was (still is). Too bad, I thought—until I realised that this new level is a fairl...

Re: General Level Editing Thread

I’d try the ‘Kill all triggers’ nullmesh. Has been in all wads since forever, yet nobody ever seems to use it. :) Place the nullmesh anywhere on the map and trigger it where you want the effect to occur (as with EARTHQUAKE and FLAME, the actual location of the nullmesh is irrelevant). Mind that the ...

Re: Walkthrough Small Talk, thread #2

There is an ‘updated’ version of Sponge’s Runes of Dawn available at the Levelbase, dated 26 September 2017 (current download on trle.net is from April).
Not sure to what extent this is relevant, but according to Titak there are some additions.
